The 2021/22 season is just around the corner, and with that in mind, we look to FourFourTwo who predicts the Premier League table.
We turn our attention to the top flight division, and as always, it causes plenty of reaction and debates on social media.

Have a look at who they thought would finish from 20th to 1st below, some will surprise, others not so…
20) CRYSTAL PALACE
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted the Eagles to finish in 20th place (relegated) for the 2021/22 campaign.
FFT VERDICT: A summer’s upheaval may have the Eagles wishing for Hodgson’s rhapsody in beige. Key Player – Wilfried Zaha
FourFourTwo predicted that then manager Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace would end up finishing 16th in the Premier League table for the 2020/21 season.
Compared with the actual final standings, the club finished 14th place, before Roy Hodgson departed Selhurst Park at the end of the campaign.
For the 2019/20 season, FourFourTwo predicted that the Eagles would finish 13th in the Premier League, instead, they finished 14th.
19) WATFORD
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted the Hornets to finish in 19th place (relegated) for the 2021/22 campaign.
FFT VERDICT: Defensively sound, the Hornets need King to compliment Sarr if Xisco is to do the impossible. Key Player – Ismaila Sarr
FourFourTwo have predicted that Watford would end up finishing 3rd in the Championship table for the 2020/21 season.
Compared with the actual final standings, the club finished in 2nd place. The magazine correctly guessed all three teams to go up.
For the 2019/20 season, FourFourTwo predicted that the Hornets would finish 11th in the Premier League, instead, they ended up finishing 19th and relegated.
18) NORWICH
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 18th place (relegated) for the 2021/22 campaign.
FFT VERDICT: Gilmour’s loan arrival offers hope, but Farke’s Canaries may lack the killer instinct to survive. Key Player – Ben Gibson
FourFourTwo have predicted that Daniel Farke’s Norwich City would end up finishing 2nd and promoted from the Championship table for the 2020/21 season.
Compared with the actual final standings, the club finished in 1st place, just one down from the prediction, but guessed right in promotion.
For the 2019/20 season, FourFourTwo predicted that the Canaries would finish 17th in the Premier League, instead, they ended up finishing 20th and relegated.
17) BRENTFORD
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted the Bees to finish in 17th place for the 2021/22 campaign.
FFT VERDICT: Toney’s goals and Frank’s touchline internally are weapons the Bees must channel to beat the drop. Key Player – Ethan Pinnock
FourFourTwo have predicted that Thomas Frank’s Brentford would end up finishing top of the Championship table for the 2020/21 season.
Compared with the actual final standings, the club finished in 3rd, beating Swansea in the playoffs, with the magazine guessing correctly in having them to go up.
For the 2019/20 season, FourFourTwo predicted that Bees would finish 8th in the Championship, instead, they ended up finishing 3rd, losing to Fulham in the playoff final.
16) NEWCASTLE
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted the Magpies to finish in 16th place for the 2021/22 campaign.
FFT VERDICT: Survival is not enough. Until Ashley does the right thing, Magpies fans are stuck in purgatory. Key Player – Callum Wilson
FourFourTwo predicted that Steve Bruce’s Newcastle United would end up finishing 17th in the Premier League table for the 2020/21 season.
Compared with the actual final standings, the North East outfit finished the season 12th, but it wasn’t all positive for them, spending much of the season a place above the drop zone.
For the 2019/20 season, FourFourTwo predicted that the Magpies would finish 19th and relegated from the Premier League, instead, they finished 13th.
15) BURNLEY
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted the Clarets to finish in 15th place for the 2021/22 campaign.
FFT VERDICT: Another season treading water is ahead if the new owners don’t back Dyche in the transfer market. Key Player – Nick Pope
FourFourTwo predicted that Sean Dyche’s Burnley would end up finishing 13th in the Premier League table for the 2020/21 season.
Compared with the actual final standings, the club disappointed, but did enough to avoid the drop, finishing 17th.
For the 2019/20 season, FourFourTwo predicted that the Clarets would finish 14th in the Premier League, instead, they finished 10th.
14) SOUTHAMPTON
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted the Saints to finish in 14th place for the 2021/22 campaign.
FFT VERDICT: Ing’s refucal to ink a new deal means Hasenhuttl’s coaching acumen will be key to avoiding the drop. Key Player – James Ward-Prowse
FourFourTwo predicted that Ralph Hassenhuttl’s Southampton would end up finishing 8th in the Premier League table for the 2020/21 season.
Compared with the actual final standings, the Saints finished in 15th place, despite being 3rd by the 13th game of the campaign.
For the 2019/20 season, FourFourTwo predicted that the Saints would finish 12th in the Premier League, instead, they finished 11th.
13) WOLVES
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Wolverhampton Wanderers to finish in 13th place for the 2021/22 campaign.
FFT VERDICT: Jimenez’s return should ensure a greater goal threat, but Lage’s lack of experience is a concern. Key Player – Raul Jimenez
FourFourTwo predicted that then manager Nuno Espirito Santo’s side would end up finishing 7th in the Premier League table for the 2020/21 season.
Compared with the actual final standings, they did worse than the prediction, finishing in 13th place, and worth noting they lost goalscorer Raul Jimenez to injury, then Nuno left by mutual consent following the fianl day.
For the 2019/20 season, FourFourTwo predicted that Wolves would finish 9th in the Premier League, instead, they finished 7th.
12) BRIGHTON
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted the Seagulls to finish in 12th place for the 2021/22 campaign.
FFT VERDICT: Leave their profligacy behind and the Seagulls will fly. Potter’s south coast resolution is on. Key Player – Lewis Dunk
FourFourTwo predicted that Graham Potter’s Brighton & Hove Albion would end up finishing 14th in the Premier League table for the 2020/21 season.
Compared with the actual final standings, the club were looking avoiding relegation to the Championship, and did so, finishing 16th.
For the 2019/20 season, FourFourTwo predicted that the Seagulls would finish 20th and relegated from the Premier League, instead, they finished 15th.
11) WEST HAM
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted the Hammers to finish in 11th place for the 2021/22 campaign.
FFT VERDICT: Backing up last season may be tough, but never doubt Moyes’ desire to counfound the naysayers. Key Player – Declan Rice
FourFourTwo predicted that David Moyes’s West Ham United would end up finishing 18th in the Premier League table for the 2020/21 season.
Compared with the actual final standings, the club had a belting season, finishing 6th place and secured Europa League football.
For the 2019/20 season, FourFourTwo predicted that the Hammers would finish 10th in the Premier League, instead, they finished 16th.
10) ASTON VILLA
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted the Villans to finish in 10th place for the 2021/22 campaign.
FFT VERDICT: Villa’s recruitment makes the Grealish conundrum less an issue. Could be on outside bet for Europe. Key Player – Ollie Watkins
FourFourTwo predicted that Dean Smith’s Aston Villa would end up finishing 18th in the Premier League table for the 2020/21 season.
Compared with the actual final standings, Villa did better than what the magazine predicted. They ended up in 11th place, a great transformation for Dean Smith, and had Grealish out injured for a good while.
For the 2019/20 season, FourFourTwo predicted that the Villans would finish 16th in the Premier League, instead, they finished 17th.
9) EVERTON
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Everton to finish in 9th place for the 2021/22 campaign.
FFT VERDICT: If Benitez can win over a sceptical fanbase, the Toffess have the players to ruffle a few feathers. Key Player – Richarlison
FourFourTwo predicted that Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton would end up finishing 10th in the Premier League table for the 2020/21 season.
Compared with the actual final standings, the magazine was spot on, the Toffees, who had glimpses of potentially getting a European place, then flopped and finished 10th.
For the 2019/20 season, FourFourTwo predicted that the Toffees would finish 8th in the Premier League, instead, they finished 12th.
8) LEEDS
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted the Whites to finish in 8th place for the 2021/22 campaign.
FFT VERDICT: Bielsa has made more surgical improvements to his squad. El Loco will prove this is no fluke. Key Player – Stuart Dallas
FourFourTwo predicted that Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United would end up finishing 12th in the Premier League table for the 2020/21 season.
Compared with the actual final standings, the club had a good season overall, finishing 9th and accumilating a record amount of goals for a newly promoted side in the first season in the Prem.
For the 2019/20 season, FourFourTwo predicted that the Whites would finish 2nd in the Championship, instead, they finished 1st and crowned champions.
7) TOTTENHAM
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Spurs to finish in 7th place for the 2021/22 campaign.
FFT VERDICT: Supers’ historic reliance on Kane may catch up with them. A season’s transition now awaits. Key Player – Son Heung-Min
FourFourTwo predicted that Tottenham Hotspur would end up finishing 6th in the Premier League table for the 2020/21 season.
Compared with the actual final standings, Spurs finished a place higher than their main rivals Arsenal, in 7th.
For the 2019/20 season, FourFourTwo predicted that Spurs would finish 3rd in the Premier League, instead, they finished 6th.
6) ARSENAL
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted the Gunners to finish in 6th place for the 2021/22 campaign.
FFT VERDICT: A vibrant young squad have momentum and no European distractions. If they start well, top six. Key Player – Thomas Partey
FourFourTwo predicted that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal would end up finishing 5th in the Premier League table for the 2020/21 season.
Compared with the actual final standings, the Gunners had a dreadful season yet again, though missed out on European football altogether and finished 8th place.
For the 2019/20 season, FourFourTwo predicted that the Gunners would finish 4th in the Premier League, instead, they finished 8th.
5) LEICESTER
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted the Foxes to finish in 5th place for the 2021/22 campaign.
FFT VERDICT: An impressive summer offers hope, but top four may still be a step too far. Plus ça change, indeed. Key Player – Youri Tielemans
FourFourTwo predicted that Brendan Rodgers’s Leicester City will end up finishing 9th in the Premier League table for the 2020/21 season.
Compared with the actual final standings, the Foxes only just missed out on the top four, finishing 5th place.
For the 2019/20 season, FourFourTwo predicted that the Foxes would finish 6th in the Premier League, instead, they finished 5th.
4) MAN UTD
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted the Red Devils to finish in 4th place for the 2021/22 campaign.
FFT VERDIT: An already elite forward line may boast Sancho as well, but doubts over defensive depth remain. Key Player – Bruno Fernandes
FourFourTwo predicted that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United would end up finishing 3rd in the Premier League table for the 2020/21 season.
Compared with the actual final standings, the Red Devils finished in 2nd place, behind Man City and after 3rd place Liverpool.
For the 2019/20 season, FourFourTwo predicted that the Red Devils would finish 5th in the Premier League, instead, they finished 3rd.
3) LIVERPOOL
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted the Reds to finish in 3rd place for the 2021/22 campaign.
FFT VERDICT: Virgil is back, as is the Kop, now Klopp must reawaken his mentalitt monsters to go again. Key Player – Virgil Van Dijk
FourFourTwo predicted that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool would end up finishing 2nd in the Premier League table for the 2020/21 season.
Compared with the actual final standings, the Reds finished in 3rd place, behind Man Utd and champions Man City.
For the 2019/20 season, FourFourTwo predicted that the Reds would finish 2nd in the Premier League, instead, they finished 1st and crowned champions.
2) CHELSEA
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted the Blues to finish in 2nd place for the 2021/22 campaign.
FFT VERDICT: Tuchel has found the antidote for Pepitis. Now Chelsea’s alchernist must deliver more silverware. Key Player – Mason Mount
FourFourTwo predicted that Frank Lampard’s Chelsea would end up finishing 4th in the Premier League table for the 2020/21 season.
Compared with the actual final standings, the Blues only just finished in 4th place, securing Champions League football, then won it against City after the league’s final day.
For the 2019/20 season, FourFourTwo predicted that the Blues would finish 7th in the Premier League, instead, they finished 4th.
1) MAN CITY
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Manchester City to finish in 1st place (champions) for the 2021/22 season.
FFT VERDICT: How do you improve on near-perfection? Pep & Co have the motivation to dominate yet again. Key Player – Phil Foden
They predicted that Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City would end up finishing 1st in the Premier League table for the 2020/21 campaign.
Compared with the actual final standings, the Sky Blues finished top of the table, so spot on! Although it didn’t look as though it could end that way following a poor start.
For the 2019/20 season, FourFourTwo predicted that the Sky Blues would finish 1st in the Premier League, instead, they finished 2nd.
