Former Burton Albion defender Kelvin Maynard has been shot and killed in Amsterdam, police in the Netherlands have confirmed.
Police confirmed the 32-year-old was fatally attacked while driving his car in the Langbroekdreef region of the Dutch capital.

Reports state he was shot dead by two men riding a motorbike as he tried to escape them by driving near a fire station.
Maynard crashed into the building and was unable to be resuscitated by medics.
A statement said: “We can confirm that the fatal victim of the shooting incident on Langbroekdreef last night was 32-year-old Kelvin Maynard.
“The investigation into his death is in full swing.”

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink signed Maynard back in 2014 for Burton, where he spent two years at and helped the Brewers win League Two in his first season.
He ended up getting a knee injury in pre-season and it ruled him out of the campaign, which the club sealed a second promotion in a row.
His other former clubs are FC Volendam, Olhanense, Kecskemet, FC Emmen, Royal Antwerp, SV Spakenburg and Quick Boys.
