Fans vent frustration as Sheffield Wednesday reveal their matchday ticket prices for the 2024/25 season in the Championship.
The club’s owner, Dejphon Chansiri, has received criticism again with fans saying they are pricing out loyal supporters and families.
There are calls for the club to reconsider the structure to ensure that matches remain accessible to all fans.
As well as the club extending the deadline for season tickets at the current price for a further week, they’ve also stated that certain tickets will cost as much as £54 if purchased on the day during the upcoming campaign.
On matchdays, tickets for under 5s and under 11s range from £5 to £15, the least expensive full-price adult ticket is £30 for Category F matches.
And for anyone who wants a discount, they can opt to purchase an Owls membership.
STATEMENT
Season Ticket deadline extended, match ticket prices confirmed and first four games categories.
The Owls are giving supporters a final opportunity to commit to a 2024/25 Season Ticket at current prices for an additional week.
Prices were due to increase today, Monday 8 July, but following requests from fans to allow a little more time to purchase, the deadline will now be midnight on 15 July.
Current prices are shown on the left with the final phases on the right, as illustrated below:
We can also confirm prices for the category of games for the upcoming Championship season:
First four categories
The Owls host Plymouth in our opening game of the season on Sunday 11 August and this will be a Category D fixture.
Following the away trip against Sunderland, we return to S6 for the visit of Yorkshire rivals Leeds under the Hillsborough lights and this will be Category A.
After the first international break in early September, QPR head north for a Category D fixture and finally, on 28 September, West Brom are our opponents at Hillsborough and this will be Category C.
Tickets for the first four fixtures will go on sale later this week, with the sales period announced here at swfc.co.uk.
As mentioned, fans vent frustration as Sheffield Wednesday reveal the matchday ticket prices for the 2024/25 season…
@JOELH0LMES: Previous seasons they’ve barely used the higher categories… Straight out the traps using Cat A for Leeds at home, which is on Sky, £45 to pay on the gate for the Kop, £54 for the South Madness 😳 Clear as day they’ve backed themselves into a corner with the season ticket prices being high. Price rises should have stopped after Phase 3 and then they’d have kept a bit of room with the matchday prices. Starting to get stuff right and the commercial side lets us down again
@HatScarfShirt: £45 for a match day ticket 🤮 Why do people in the armed forces get concession tickets? People in receipt of benefits, on zero hour contracts, and others don’t but full time armed forces employees do. At least you have a feel good factor with NHS discounts.
@TomMatthews_: Just when we looked like turning a corner DC goes and scores his usual own goal 🙄
@Craig_18_G: Absolute fucking scandal. Given most will be on @SkySports and at stupid times on stupid days. So for all the good of the past few weeks, our dick head of a chairman, pulls this Get to fuck #swfc
@Danworth2509: Ridiculous pricing
@WednesdayRetro: This is where the owner gets it so so wrong, disgusting pricing. Pricing Supporters Out. Clueless #swfc
@AshFinney1: This is exactly why protests happen & will continue to happen. Yes, he deserves credit where credit is due for this summer so far but these prices are sickening. Leeds at home on a Friday night live on Sky either £45, £50 or £54 for an adult. Shocking. #swfc
@maccaowl: 50 quid 😂😂😂 paid less to go to wembley 😂😂😂
@_Brian1867: Them prices are disgusting
@studsupmodels: I just want to be able to afford to watch my team. Priced out of a season ticket for the first time in years, now it looks like I’ll only be able to go to a hand full of games #swfc
@Christoph0512: £50 on a Friday night on Sky is disgusting.
@bazapeps: Absolutely disgraceful. People love this club and want to support them but your literally actively preventing it and driving them away. No defending this
@IanSWFC80: How can he justify those prices? What makes him think that’s the correct price?
@b1057013: Customers taken advantage of for our love of Sheffield Wednesday Football Club.
@Phillipson70: You are pricing families out of coming to matches. Perhaps the new TV revenue should be used to keep ticket prices down (and attendances up).
@johnada75157425: This is just sad to see 😞😡
@peckhamowl: Eye watering stuff
@Mally350z: Be plenty empty seats this season then …….
@UtoJake: £50 is a disgrace and you know it
@jakerowl1: @swfc print the responses to this thread off and leave them on Chansiri’s desk. Why keep doing this? Absolute disgrace #swfc
@Owls1412: £54 really ???????? Beyond ridiculous, don’t even try and defend that pricing structure…..
@Rumble1867: Absolutely disgusting prices sort it out
@djpickup1980: 😂😂😂😂 £120 minimum to watch three games that are on TV. Well done Dejphon, you’ve continued to show unbelievable business acumen over the last 9 years. I’ve put you forward for a community award 😂😂😂
@Mikelunds: 54 actual pounds😂 love my club but not the greedy clown that owns it! Totally out of touch with reality so local football for me from now on
@LiamLennon19: Every time we have a few positives chansiri goes and takes a sledgehammer to it all the guy will never learn #swfc
@Varley94: At what point does this stop? Honestly 🤦🏼♂️
@_Brian1867: Absolutely fucking Vile
@Markmoorhouse2: Disgusting prices again SWFC. Because you know how much we love our club but because of that you are constantly taking advantage of fans. I know lots of fans who Know longer go because they have been Priced Out & have been for Years
The Leeds game will be the first Cat A game of the season – minimum £45 for a full price adult ticket. https://t.co/5BBS4TW2dd
