Fans have took to hit back at Gabby Agbonlahor’s bizarre rant over what Leeds United did post-match at Leicester City on Saturday.
Following the game, Jesse Marsch gathered his players together into a huddle on the pitch, this somewhat triggered the talkSPORT pundit who called it “cringe”.
It was much more improved performance under the American manager, and the new boss appeared to be coming from it keeping a positive feeling of togetherness amongst his squad rather than dwelling and being disappointed.

Agbonlahor instead thought it made for uncomfortable viewing and believes the players would not have enjoyed it either.
Speaking on talkSPORT, on a clip posted to their Twitter page, the former Aston Villa striker said: “I’m not sure about that huddle as well in the middle of the pitch. Honestly, it was like watching a college basketball huddle in the middle of the court.
“I know he doesn’t want to be like [TV coach Ted Lasso], but even the players were looking at him like, ‘what’s he doing?’.
“Do it in the changing room… Doing it in the middle of the pitch was so cringe, and honestly, the players would have been thinking exactly the same.”

Speaking after the Premier League game, Marsch gave his views on his first 90 minutes in charge.
He said: “I’m not saying we were the better team but in general I am very pleased.
“After four days and where we have changed a lot of tactical topics and changed a lot of what we are trying to accomplish, there was such clarity and we were able to put that into practice.
“What I find with this group, I know how hard they work and how committed they are to each other and want to make the fans proud, what I also learned today is how intelligent they are.
“For the most part, the basics were quite good, and for me if if we had found the first goal it’s a different type of match.
“After four days, to put in a performance like that at a tough place to play against a tough opponent, I am very positive.”
Marsch was then asked what he would look to work on next week ahead of the two home matches against Aston Villa and Norwich City.
“Every moment during the match I can see little bits where we can be sharper with or without the ball,” the head coach explained.
“It will be more about creating clarity now with the things that happen in the game, that can be tighter and better understood.
“But at the same time, really, in a tough moment in a big game where there is stress I thought their ability to execute was really good.
“There are so many little things happening on the pitch that can be a little bit cleaner, it will take time to implement it fully.
“These guys run and fight for each other so much, I am just trying to guide them now. If we keep playing like this we can get all the points we need.”
Of course, this sparked anger, with some fans choosing to hit back at Gabby Agbonlahor’s bizarre rant over what Leeds did post-match…
@Alltheleedstalk: Honestly don’t have an issue with it ? Is it cos he’s American and people quick to make fun of or discriminate against American coaches ? I never see any stigmas when English coaches go into American sports … 🤷🏼♂️
@Nongnu243: Its because we’re Leeds and he’s villa mate. If any of the other teams. In the bottom 6 had a new manager and played as well as that the huddle would’ve been seen as a show of solidarity. Well done to Marsch he’s been classy week and that was a very good performance.
@ConfusedLeftie: Gabby is a reminder to us all that just because you were a footballer, it doesn’t mean you actually know anything about the game beyond kicking a ball and doing what you are told.
@matthayesthfc: I don’t think I’ve ever heard the slightest bit of sense come out of Gabby Agbonlahor’s mouth. We all loved Phil Brown doing it with Hull all those years ago, but as soon as Jesse Marsch tries to display some togetherness he’s being compared to Ted Lasso. Horrific ‘punditry’.
@SamWils09165303: Gabbys just never felt love and togetherness before, feel bad for him.
@JoshuaHolden93: Even his mum didn’t speak to him for years, makes sense tbf 😂😂
@Manny_S_H_1989: He is oddly obsessed with us……
@JLucy55: I love Villa. I supported Gabby. But this is a bad take. It’s okay to be different. Football is a team sport. There is power in team unity on the pitch. And this is symbolic of exactly that. American or not, Marsch is an EPL manager for a reason.
@recyclapak: I wonder if Gabby Agbonlahor can say his own name? It’s staggering that he gets a job on the radio.
@Human_Cow: Quite xenophobic isn’t he? Criticising Bielsa for not doing interviews in English, now making comments on an American for a TV show and a huddle #lufc
@Joe_Rose00: Gabby Agbonlahor’s career highlight was his fifa 12 card, don’t take anything he says seriously
@anacondanufc: Proper submarine door this prick
@KHeneage: Impressed with how often this lad picks the wrong side of the argument.
