A fan swinging a metal bollard gets tasered by police at a Birmingham New Street train station after the England win over Germany.
Dramatic footage has emerged showing the moment a supporters was taken down before being arrested in the aftermath of the Euro 2020 victory on Tuesday.
British Transport Police officers took quick action after the suspect began waving around a metal pole trying to threat those coming near him.
The unnamed 43-year-old man can be seen in the clip falling heavily to the ground after being zapped by police after he failed to take their instructions.
The shocking mobile phone clip shows how one officer repeatedly shouts “put it down, put it down now” as the young man grabs a post at the top of an escalator.
As he raises it above his head the officer discharges the high voltage weapon, which causes the man to immediately collapse behind a row of chairs. Completely out of it.
The two officers then rush over to detain the suspect as he laid incapacitated on the ground and tell him “face the floor” while they handcuffed him.
The British Transport Police said in a statement: “Officers at Birmingham New Street station received a report of a man damaging station furniture with a metal pole at 7.57pm yesterday (29 June).
“Officers approached the man, drew their Tasers and repeatedly requested that the man drop the pole. He refused to do so and began moving towards officers with the pole. As a result, the Taser was discharged.
“A 43-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, threatening officers with an offensive weapon, and being drunk and disorderly. He was taken to hospital to be checked over, subsequently discharged and is now in police custody.”
The footage has been viewed over 10,000 times in less than 24 hours after being uploaded by the Birmz is Grime blog.

The male was apparently celebrating the Three Lions’ 2-0 victory over their rivals, a result which secured a place in Saturday’s quarter-final with Ukraine.
The video footage emerged as it was revealed that police officers in the United Kingdom are facing new restrictions over the use of Tasers.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has been conducting a review amid concerns about the disproportionate use of stun guns.
Police have reportedly had to deploy the weapons on 32,000 occasions in the year to March 2020 – double the number from two years earlier.
It also follows the eight year sentence for West Mercia Police officer Benjamin Monk, 43, who has just been jailed, confirmed on Tuesday, for the manslaughter of former footballer Dalian Atkinson.
Meanwhile, three men have been arrested after a fight in a pub just as England’s match ended.
Police said they were called to the Stocks Hotel on Manchester Road in Worsley, Salford, at 6.49pm.
According to the pub’s Facebook page, the Euro 2020 clash was being shown on big screens, before police officers then attended and found out that a fight had taken place.
Three men were arrested at the scene on suspicion of violent disorder.
Former Chief Prosecutor Nazir Afzal went past the scene and tweeted: “Just drove past a pub in Manchester after the game with nobody there & a lot of police.
“A stabbing, a woman knocked unconscious & chairs & tables overturned We WON ffs.”
However, Greater Manchester Police later confirmed a stabbing did not take place.
A GMP spokesperson said: “At around 6.49pm yesterday (29 June) police were called to a report of a disturbance at the Stocks Hotel on Manchester Road, Worsley.
“Officers attended and a 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder, possessing a bladed article and possession of Class A drugs.
“Another two men aged 29 and 30 were also arrested on suspicion of violent disorder after a 19-year-old man was assaulted.
“All three remain in custody.”
