It was an extraordinary day in League Two with late drama and surprise results for those at either end of the table.
The division’s top three all lost while the three of the bottom four won, Notts County the big winners as they climb into the top-three thanks to their 2-0 win at Harrogate in the lunchtime kick off.
Bromley saw their 21-game unbeaten run ended by Barrow who started the day rock-bottom, second-placed MK Dons fell to defeat at Salford, who are back in the automatic promotion race, and third-placed Cambridge lost to Barnet, who are eyeing a second-straight promotion sitting 3 points of the play-offs, then Crewe grabbed a last-gasp win over in-form Oldham.
Harrogate fall to the foot of the table while Barrow remain in the relegation zone, sitting 23rd, and are 2 points from safety. 22nd place Newport got a three points over Shrewsbury while Colin Kazim-Richards snatched a dramatic win over Gillingham in his first game in charge of Crawley.
BARROW 2-1 BROMLEY
Bromley boss Andy Woodman said, per HuntsPost: “We have got to look at ourselves and realise that wasn’t good enough.
“We got everything wrong. But let’s give some credit to Barrow.
“We can’t say we did everything wrong and they got lucky. They are fighting for their lives and ran all over us.
“I am pretty sure their owner wished they had played like that all season.
“We made wrong decisions all over the pitch. I just felt we were the victims of our own bad decisions all through the game.
“I haven’t had these interviews too many times this season. We have got to look at ourselves and realise that wasn’t good enough.
“The wind was horrific and didn’t half level it up. I am by no means saying we are a footballing team but it was a lottery we didn’t do particularly well at.
“Conditions were tough and before the game I knew it was going to be tough.
“We have got to stick to what I tell them to do. I am not saying they came away from that on purpose but the way we got spooked in the second half, we caused our own problems.”
Barrow’s Sam Foley: “We still have a lot to do. This could be the building blocks for something but we just need to get our heads down and carry on.
“I wasn’t too high or too low. Getting in front was big but we still had a job to do.
“The final whistle brought joy and relief. But I am delighted for the players, they have worked so hard.
“The one thing that was missing was a three-point win so I am very pleased.”
On being assisted by Graham Coughlan: “It is an opportunity to bring someone in who is experienced. He has been great for me as a sounding board.”
SALFORD 1-0 MK DONS
Salford’s Karl Robinson said, per HuntsPost: “To come up against the league’s leading scorers and not concede a goal shows the strength of character in our play.
“I don’t think people really understand how hard it is to play on this pitch. It’s dry and it was really windy.
“Now we have the most wins our football club has ever had in the Football League. We’ve already beaten last year’s points tally – and that’s with more injuries than we have ever had.
“Managing Salford is one of the most stressful jobs I’ve ever had in my life. So I’m not going to worry about somebody else’s results.
“We worry about ourselves, and that’s the uniqueness of us, that we may not be liked by many, but we are certainly a group of people who really care for this football club.”
MK Dons manager Paul Warne said: “The conditions didn’t help either team. When I say conditions, I mean the wind, low sun and pitch.
“It was one of the poorest games I think I’ve ever seen this time of year. In fairness, it took it out of both sets of players. It looked like an exhausting encounter.
“No one could keep it for more than one pass and it felt like it would come down to a mistake or one-goal match – and that’s what happened to be.”
“It just didn’t feel like a proper football match. It just felt really bitty, really ‘set-piecey’.
“You’ve got to get your basics bang on, be organised on restarts and give yourself a good chance, but today we weren’t and we got punished.
“I’m not saying that we were the better team. We didn’t deserve much more out of the game than we got, but there wasn’t really anything in the game.
“It would not make you renew your season ticket after seeing it.
“It was just a scrappy, windy game of football that won’t live long in the memory.”
HARROGATE 0-2 NOTTS COUNTY
Notts County boss Martin Paterson said, per Hackney Gazette: “It’s always good to have people who can take their moments and we have that with people like AJ, Matthew Dennis and Lee (Ndlovu). AJ took his two goals fantastically well, but it’s the team that run and compete to create those moments for him.
“Were we brilliant and exceptional in all phases throughout the game? Probably not but we were very professional in all of them.
“It’s coming to a point in the season where everything is heightened and there is more importance placed on every game and we made some good corrections from previous performances in certain areas of the field but it’s only three points and nobody will be whooping it up after this win.
“I know it’s a boring statement, but we don’t get too high and we don’t get too low. After a defeat or a win, we just focus on working hard to get better and move forward again.”
Harrogate boss Simon Weaver said: “Their lad (Jatta) showed his pedigree and banged his goals in and that’s what they’ve got in that area of the pitch.
“We don’t fear any team. There was a time – in October and November – when we looked way short of what was needed but, now, we are just short on goals.
“We have talented attacking players and hungry animals in our changing room. There are no rats in there, but we need to find a consistent cutting edge.
“The windy conditions were difficult for both teams but we had more possession than we’ve probably ever had against Notts County, because they’ve always been a good footballing team and I would have just liked to create more chances and test their keeper more, especially in the first half.
“We had a few moments and played some good football for large parts but, on the whole, there wasn’t enough intensity on their goal.”

Here’s the social media reaction after an extraordinary day in League Two with late drama at either end of the table…
@scott_burbridge: 6 teams going for 7th
@Dazzler39: Good day for @Official_NCFC!
@Stephen_Mills85: With Bromley still to play MK, Cambridge and Salford, the race for autos and the title is going to be crazy. And then 7th – 12th all with a decent chance of that last play-off place. Best 4th tier in the world.
@edward_w97: Bottom-club Barrow, winless in 8 and with just 1 previous win in 2026, beating league leaders Bromley, unbeaten since late November. Because football.
@Joe_Loughran26: You can’t beat a good quality Jattaday
@idontcareicba: League two is doing that thing again where no one wants promotion
@1985Pete: Get them games in hand played! The false hope is killing me 🤣🤣 Easter is going to be massive #crewealex
@Ninjallamma2412: Absolute worst results possible for Harrogate, starting to accept the fate of relegation
@jackbeeton2002: Yh we don’t make it easy for ourselves don’t we #camutd
