Ex-Oldham, Sheff Utd, Coventry, Rangers player Andy Goram has been rushed to hospital in severe pain amid an ongoing cancer battle.
The 58 year old experienced the “worst two weeks of his life” and is to undergo a procedure which will establish whether there is a problem with his treatment.
Goram was taken to Hairmyres Hospital in East Kilbride on Wednesday with severe stomach pains just days after he left Wishaw General where he was given the cancer diagnosis last month.

He has received a huge amount of supportive messages from former players and supporters of his old clubs.
A close friend of his, Stan Gordon, said Goram had been overwhelmed at everyone getting in touch and was taken back into hospital following an appointment with a cancer specialist.
He said [via Daily Record]: “After being released from Wishaw General last Friday, Andy had a routine meeting with the oncologist at Hairmyres to discuss possible treatment for his cancer.
“He had severe stomach pains on Monday and Tuesday.
“On Wednesday, he was rushed up to a ward. He will get scoped to see if the stent inserted into his gullet a few weeks ago is still properly in place.
“Andy would like to thank everyone for the cards and best wishes from the world over – from Celtic fans and ex-players, the whole Rangers family and a vast amount of former team-mates who have visited him.”
Stan added: “The visits from friends, along with family, have kept him fighting. Especially his son Danny, who was beside him for the worst two weeks of his life.
“He wants to say a massive ‘thank you’ to every member of staff in Ward 18 at Wishaw General for that period and the staff he’s had so far at Hairmyres.”
Speaking the day after Rangers knocked out Leipzig at Ibrox to secure a Europa League Final spot, Goram said: “Last night was the best medicine I’ve ever f****** had. Roll on Seville.”
Bury born Andy Goram is a former footballer who played as a goalkeeper, spending time with West Brom in his teens, then starting his professional career with Oldham Athletic and Hibernian, but he is best remembered for playing for Rangers during the 1990s, when he earned the nickname “The Goalie”.
In a 2001 poll of Rangers fans, Goram was voted Rangers’ greatest ever goalkeeper, a video further down the article shows just why he earned that award.
Goram made 43 international appearances for Scotland and was picked for their squads at the 1986 and 1990 World Cups, UEFA Euro 1992 and UEFA Euro 1996.
After his time with Rangers, he played for many clubs, most notably at Motherwell and a brief loan spell at Manchester United. Goram also represented Scotland at cricket.
