Everton and Newcastle players took to clash in a 13-man row with Jordan Pickford on the wind up at full time on Thursday night.
Both sets of players had to be separated following the furious bust-up when the final whistle blew at Goodison Park.
Sean Dyche’s side surprised many strolling to a 3-0 victory, with thanks to a tiresome defence and error prone Kieran Trippier throughout the game to lift themselves out of the relegation zone for the first time since their 10 point deduction.
The row first erupted between Bruno Guimaraes and Jordon Pickford, with the latter seen arguing with Fabian Schar, Joelinton and other players then got involved, before Pickford threw his gloves to the ground.

Trippier ended up being twice caught in possession in the final 11 minutes of the 90 remaining, allowing McNeil and Doucoure to seal back-to-back wins. Beto also added a third, with the result lifting Everton up to 17th in the Premier League, a point above third-bottom Luton; while Newcastle remain 7th.

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe: “The game was there for us to win in the second half. The first half was even and we had them penned in in the second half. We conceded the first goal and it changed the momentum of the match. Frustrating and a chance missed.
“Last year our away form was good, free-scoring and the defensive record was good. We have not got going on the road, apart from the Sheffield United game. Something for us to analyse.
“Kieran [Trippier] has been absolutely magnificent since signing for the club and has been the catalyst of our success. Collectively we were off our best today.
“We have to do better, there are reasons behind every performance and we have struggled to change players. That is a big miss with the quality of players out. The longer you do it, the harder it gets. I am disappointed, a missed opportunity, we did not grab it.
On Lascelles’ injury: “I don’t think it is a serioius one, it looks like a dead leg.
“You have to take into account Lewis Miley and his age, a huge ask but he handled himself really well. We have a lot of difficult situations at the moment which we have to manage. Today I have to call the performance as I see it, we weren’t at our best. The beauty of football is that you have another game. We are desperate for help with players back and hopefully that will happen.”
On Anthony Gordon: “Anthony coming back here was a huge moment for him. He had some big moments in the game, especially in the second half. It wasn’t for the lack of trying, probably the opposite. He has been magnificent for us and has a huge part to play for us.”
Everton manager Sean Dyche, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: “I thought we were good from the off. Particularly first half, a strong half against a good side.
“There was a lot of good detail in our performance. The missing link that has been obvious is scoring goals and the first half was another headscratcher.
“They had a couple of chances, to be fair, but we had three golden chances. You come in at half-time wondering but second half again was a really solid performance.
“We kept at it and I was really pleased with the mentality and the quality to score the goals.
“People ask how we can change it, it’s by scoring goals. We’ve played better than that here in games and not won. That has been the headscratcher all season.”
On moving out of bottom three: “We moved into it. Without those 10 points [deducted], we’d be in an amazing position – 20 points would be amazing relatively to the last two seasons here.
“We’ll see what the appeal brings. The mentality is key for me, we took a knock but there have been a lot of knocks here over the last couple of years.
“But the team mentality is growing. I can’t emphasise it enough, the commitment to each other and the connection is a powerful thing because I know we’ve got quality.”

@the_street_end: I think it’s fair to say that Jordan Pickford enjoyed that one. #EFC #NSNO #COYB
@RyanSoccerAA: The dropping of the gloves hockey-style is nothing short of hilarious.
@jakesafc2508: Best part about this is he was probably thinking about the FA Cup draw the entire time
@weAllGonnaDye: I don’t think I’ve seen a team so dislikable like Newcastle
@FollowEverton: Pickford is mental. Love him. Been getting abuse all game and has the last laugh.
@Bairdy26: What a bloke. Mackem thru and thru
@mjh100: Genuinely don’t understand the Pickford kick offs. We can’t rip the piss out of him constantly, sing about him, bring inflatable dinosaurs and then whinge when he gives it back after a win. Can’t have it both ways unfortunately, hate the cunt still but he’s not in the wrong
@AnthonyM91: Pickford definitely has a screw lose 😂😂😂 love the big shithouse
@AlfieEllison: Ahahahahaha got them on strings
@bluegirl1980: Pickford rattling the whole of the geordies.. players and fans. Absolutely wonderful 🤣🤣👊🏻💙 get back under your rocks you topless horse punching freaks 🤣
@BallysBoots: I’m struggling to think of how tonight could have got much better. Three goals, a clean sheet, Beto scoring, Goodison rocking, Pickford boiling the horse punchers’ piss, three points and out of the bottom three. Everton aren’t we. 👍👏
@MattyJamesz: Cant stand Jordan Pickford but when fans sing at him all game you have to expect some shit back if the result goes his way, its only fair like 😂 #nufc
Cawh good hands by Pickford👏 pic.twitter.com/wpozMV2t3Z
