SHORTENED HIGHLIGHTS:
EXTENDED HIGHLIGHTS:
Swansea head coach Vitor Matos told the club’s media: âIâm really happy. I think we started the game really well,â he said.
âWe started really bright, with the right energy and mindset. The intensity was spot on from the off, and our quality in the game was really good as well.
âWe knew we needed a strong start. We scored, which gave us the ability to push forward, and then we got the second.
âAfter that, we started to feel it a little bit with our decision-making. Everything was a little bit slower, and that gave Watford a little bit of a feeling with their counter-attacks.
âBut overall, we were really pleased with the performance and really pleased for the boys.
âThe boys deserve a huge amount of credit for the effort they are putting in, which is massive, and Iâm really pleased with everything.â
On build-up to the goals, he said: âItâs something that weâve been working on for a while.
âSome things take more time than others, but we need to find the right consistency over time, and itâs important that we continue to compete.
âThatâs what weâre trying to do â compete with everyone and create a clear identity of how we play, which we can be proud of.â
On the start to the season, he added: âBelief is massive for us and really important.
âBut we know the table doesnât mean anything now. There is a lot of football still to be played, and we understand that.
âIâm really happy with where we are at the moment, but there are still loads of games to come, and hopefully we can pick up more points along the way.â
Watford’s Alessio Dionisi said, as per their website: âToday, the problem was the distance between my team and the opponents,â Dionisi said.
âAgainst West Ham and Southampton, we played well out of possession.
âFor us it is very important to play well without the ball, but today wasnât good.
âSwansea played well in possession but out of possession, and with the ball in the first half, we played badly.
âEvery day we work on playing well out of possession, but today I didnât see this.
âThe result of the first half is right.
âThe second half was different, but it was too late for us to recover.
âIn the second half we played better, but itâs normal in football for there to be good and bad.â
On Branimir Mlacic’s debut: âBranimir played well. Iâm happy for him because he arrived on Monday and itâs not easy for a young player.
âHe will be important for us in the future.â
Dionisi: “We played badly”

As mentioned, Swansea wows fans with an impressive team goal in the 2-0 win over Watford…
@JordanWebber96: That first-half performance was the closest I have seen to that Michael Laudrup team destroying West Brom in the 2012/2013 season. Vitor Matos & Co, take a bow. Phenomenal work being done, and it is showing this season. đŚ˘
@maffinaround: Obviously Idah and Eom are getting recognition for their improvement, but my god does Stammy look comfortable on the ball now. All the players we needed big steps up from have done it
@buddyboy119: Unbelievable football and goal if a top European team had scored that last night they would be showing it all the time
@scfcharvey: you beautiful bastards. chuffed to bits to see vigs play that pass through the two players.
@mattbarnish: Thatâs just filthy great footballing side who blew us off the park Saturday
@CameronYJB: This is one of the best goals youâre likely to see at any level of football and the most swanseaesque too. What a time to be supporting this club, drink it in jacks 𦢠#swans @SwansOfficial
@pozuel0: would i love about this is that thereâs zero nervousness from the crowd in build up, playing passes under pressure around the box usually results in moans/anxiety from the crowd and that results in players panickingâŚ
@RicksterTheJack: This goal doesn’t happen with burgess or cabango playing btw….
@71_alec: Some build and finish that
@maffinaround: Really does go under the radar how good a signing Vigouroux on a free was. A keeper who can play with his feet, stop shots and claim crosses was just sitting around as Burnley’s third choice keeper
@71_alec: Thatâs up there with our Celina goal against Man City
@IanMitchelmore: Shades of Bersant Celina v Ipswich under Graham Potter here, although not quite as initially terrifying/exciting at the back as that one was! Unreal team goal. 10/12 points & top of the table, excellent start to the campaign for Vitor Matos’ side. #Swans
@JackoRugby: From penalty area to penalty area, a goal worthy of the Swans’ renown for stylish football. No wonder they’re top of the Championship.
@garryleechswans: Passing with purpose and not just for the sake of it đ Excellent movement, breaking at speed and a well deserved goal the end of it! âThe Swansea wayâ đŚ˘
