Doncaster Rovers player Matt Smith goes viral on social media site Twitter, with the most satisfying pass you’ll ever see.

The midfielder played one of the most beautiful passes, as the League One outfit managed to beat AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday night.

The Wales international, who is currently on loan from Premier League outfit Manchester City right now, was vital to Doncaster going on to win 2-0 at home.

Fejiri Okenabirhie put the hosts ahead after just 10 minutes before Taylor Richards doubled the lead in the 37th minute.

Despite that the goals, the moment that caught most people’s attention was just minutes after the second strike, thanks to Smith’s brilliant pass.

The 21-year-old went viral with his first time, outside of the foot, through ball, utter magic!

The three points, which were deserved for the pass alone, takes Darren Moore’s side up to fourth in the third tier and they are just six points off first place Lincoln City, with two games in hand.

Clearly Smith has been well versed in the ways at Manchester City, during his eight years with the club, since he joined the youth ranks.

It’s no surprise that he grew up in the same academy as Phil Foden with passing like that, definitely one to keep an eye on that’s for sure!

Rovers supporters on Twitter voted Matt Smith as their man of the match after his impressive performance.

The Manchester City loanee ran the show from the holding midfield role and collected 70% of the vote, with Taylor Richards, Brad Halliday and Tom Anderson coming second, third and fourth respectively.

Doncaster boss Darren Moore said: “It was important for us because we wanted to start the game fast and we didn’t want Wimbledon to settle,” he said.

“The confidence from Fej to take that goal on the way he did with a real striker’s finish.

“We wanted to keep that going. Wimbledon work hard, they’re aggressive with you and you’ve got to stand up and be counted.

“But also when the ball flipped over we saw some good composure and release passes to relieve the pressure.

“That ultimately put them on the back foot. It was pleasing to see that part of it as well too.

“We needed that type of performance against that opposition to ensure the game went the right way for us.”

“I thought it was a good, accomplished performance,” he added.

“We set the tone really early and Fej’s goal was a really well taken strike.

“It gave us real impetus and a real foothold in the game. Some of the passing and the movement, it always kept them on the back foot in the first half.

“We knew they’d come out strong for the second half and they had a 15 or 20 minute spell at the start of it but we regained control of it and saw the game out.”
