Dean Brennan has new message for fans after his rant with club making generous ticket offer

Manager Dean Brennan has a new message for fans after his gone viral rant with the club now making a generous ticket offer for a home game.

The Barnet manager hit out at his own club’s moany fans, having been left unhappy at criticism from some supporters during Barnet’s 2-1 win at home to Altrincham in midweek.

Brennan gave an incredibly passionate post-match interview and demanded the supporters turn up in more numbers. Now it seems they’re coming up with ways of getting more fans through the turnstiles at future matches.

Brennan said on Thursday: “Hi, all. I’ve just had a brilliant conversation with our chairman. We’re going to create an offer for our game against Fylde here at The Hive in two weeks time.

“And the offer is going to be football for a fiver. Get yourselves down here. Let’s get The Hive buzzing. And we show a little bit of character and a little bit of togetherness. We can do it.’

This came after the club put out a statement: Barnet FC are delighted to announce that all tickets for our home game against AFC Fylde on Saturday 28thĀ September will be available to buy for just Ā£5!

Letā€™s get The Hive Stadium rocking!

Come on down in 2 weeks time and back Brennan and the boys for only a fiver!

BUY Ā£5 TICKETS HERE

Under 12ā€™s will still be able to buy at Ā£3 per ticket.

Dean Brennan went on quite the rant after the 2-1 win against Altrincham on Tuesday night.

He said:Ā We got character. We got togetherness. Weā€™re in their camp. I donā€™t like the moan and groans from my supporters over here beside me, moaning get forward, screaming rubbish at me when weā€™re 1-0 down. Weā€™ve just played now 6 games without a recognised centre forward. And I have to be honest with you. I think our level of performance has been outstanding. If they donā€™t want that, Iā€™ll move on then. If thatā€™s what they want. Get someone else to do the job because Iā€™m sick and tired of it. Just a miserable moany lot. Get behind the group. Get behind the team. So I feel that way about it. Iā€™m delighted for the boys. Delighted for the players. Delighted for our supporters that come with the Gateshead and clap us off. But Iā€™m hearing this out here. I donā€™t like it. You know. Go somewhere else and be negative. Itā€™s their money. They can do what they want, but I can say what I want on here as well and how I really feel because I donā€™t I donā€™t pull no punches. Moaning and groaning.

Interviewer:Ā Yeah. And, obviously, just speaking on the football, for the 90 minutes, it looked like a really good battle, a really good test between 2 top teams.

Dean:Ā Yeah. We got young lads that read the social media. I donā€™t read it. Iā€™m not on it. Iā€™ve got young lads reading social media. Iā€™ve got stuff on social media going against my goalkeeper. Does that help? Does it? Does that help everybody? Theyā€™re all geniuses now. They wanna clap you off, donā€™t they? Yeah. You know what happens in life? When youā€™re in the tough times, you see the real characters, the real people. Thatā€™s what Iā€™m looking for, character in this group. Character. I want fans to come with us with it. Thereā€™s a message for you. Alright? Do not edit that, by the way. I want that to go out because thatā€™s very important because weā€™re very open and very honest with our supporters. But when Iā€™m hearing on our negativity, when weā€™re playing well good goal by Altrincham by the way. Good goal on the counter attack. Fair play. Good goal. Good. Justinā€™s reply pace. And Iā€™ve gotta listen to that moment. Iā€™m here. Just relax. I know what Iā€™m doing. I took this team over. Bottom of the table. Have a look where you are. Yeah? Thereā€™s a lot of other teams below us. Thatā€™s how I feel about it. Iā€™m very, very angry and frustrated. If any fan wants to come see me, my door is open. Come in come in and see me. Have a cup of tea with me, and come and see me. And Iā€™ll explain where weā€™re at and whoā€™s injured and whatā€™s happening. No Taveres. No Brown. No Kabamba. No Collinge. Who else is missing? Coker. Just come back. You know, get behind this young group. Look at Joe Roy tonight. Outstanding. Joe Greenwood, outstanding performance. Unbelievable. Chapman, what a player. Front character. So I want us to get behind our players, not moan at them, not seeing them or winning. I want us to be a proper football club. All I ever hear is moaning, moaning about the chairman. The beer is not good enough. Thatā€™s not good enough. Come on, man. Get behind the group. Get behind the team.

Interviewer: And you Iā€™ve seen that in that youā€™re obviouslyā€¦

Dean:Ā By the way, there were only 900 fans here tonight. Thatā€™s what it was announced as well. It was 900 here. Yeah. Weā€™re the big club, arenā€™t we?

Interviewer:Ā And Iā€™ve seen that you mentioned about about Joe Greenwood. Heā€™s obviously had a really bright start to the season with. Three clean sheets, you know, for a team thatā€™s obviously not the right side of the table, and yet heā€™s coming tonight and done a Iā€™ve done an impeccable performance like you said.

Dean:Ā Heā€™s a top player. You know, we expected to lose players this year. My chairman supported me and kept him with us. You know, we got players in the last year, the contract, con college, people like that. We expected to lose them. Chairmanā€™s torn torn down bids and kept the struts the squad strong, so I sent Joe out on loan. He listened to what I said, and heā€™s got some experience in the National League. Heā€™s a good player. You know? Heā€™s here to place people like college and that if they donā€™t sign new contracts, if they leave on free transfers. Thatā€™s the future of the football club. Can they not see what Iā€™m doing? So our second half, we were out there outstanding, especially up against all the elements. And I thought our fitness levels were were top. Weā€™re a one fit team. Even when we are losing to, like, Gateshead we kept going, kept trying. We never gave in. In every game, we havenā€™t given in. So weā€™d like our supporters not to give in, also.

Interviewer:Ā Yeah. And and, obviously, as well, we spoke about Reece Brown before in interviews and how youā€™ve obviously been so impressed for of his and how what he can bring to the group. And, obviously, youā€™ve seen that tonight he comes on and scores last minute.

Dean:Ā And heā€™s a proper player. Just gotta keep me fit. Thatā€™s the key bit. Keep him fit. We got brilliant medical centre here with TicHealth, chairman, and, we just gotta keep him fit. Once we get him and Nikki back, weā€™re gonna be a force. But I know this division. You canā€™t get too high and you canā€™t get too low, and I know how difficult itā€™s gonna be. So we move on to Braintree. Obviously, gave a good account of themselves again tonight. They were unbeaten in 4 or 5 games. Angeloā€™s doing a great job there. So itā€™s gonna be another difficult game, but itā€™s today is about my team, the collective of my team, and and what theyā€™re about. And we showed character after going to Gateshead in a game where I didnā€™t think we shouldā€™ve lost it, it, in a game where we kept going, we kept digging deep, and we come back to let him bounce back, and thatā€™s what good sides do. So letā€™s see how we get on. Weā€™re in tomorrow. Our reserve team going tomorrow against Palace, training tomorrow, and towards the end of Friday. We make the sacrifices. We know what it takes to win football matches.

Interviewer:Ā Yeah. And, obviously, like we said earlier about how, you know, teams have come to the hive every again this season and then felt that defeat. How important is it to keep the hive the fortress that it can be?

Dean:Ā Yeah. It helped it helped if we brought more than 900 supporters here. You know, if we can get 2,000, thatā€™ll help the chairman. Thatā€™ll help us get a centre forward. If people start buying more tickets and buying beers and sweets and all that. Well, apparently, thatā€™s not good enough. All I heard is moaning. So thatā€™d help. Yeah. Though we have to rely on Tony. Keep relying on Tonyā€™s pocket. Heā€™s crying prepared heā€™s crying kidsā€™ money. You know, theyā€™re inheritance. Just keep going. Come here. Spend your money. Get this place rocking. I have no problem sending players in there that are injured after 12 oā€™clock. Go to be with the supporters. I want to get on this. We canā€™t splinter away. You know, moaning about everything. Jesus Christ. Look. Give me 5.

@MikeyBoy17: That is such a fantastic gesture by the Club. I just hope that we really can get a couple of thousand more people coming through the turnstiles. If not, nothing will. Letā€™s circulate this across social media so the club hasnā€™t got to spend money on advertising.
