York City issue statement on repeated anti-social behaviour and fans causing damage

York City have had to issue another statement on repeated anti-social behaviour and fans causing damage within the stadium on matchdays.

The National League club, who have had a brilliant start to the 2024/25 season under highly rated former Worthing manager Adam Hinshelwood, have spoke out condemning trouble from some of their supporters.

The club expressed disappointment over incidents of disorder, including damage to stadium seats and urinals.

Despite previous warnings, these behaviours have continued, leading to potential financial costs and the risk of sanctions from the Football Association.

YORK STATEMENT:

York City is disappointed to report on repeated anti-social behaviour which continues to re-occur on matchdays, despite warning.

So far this season, seats have continued to be broken and even toilet urinals needlessly damaged. These incidents inevitably come at a cost to the Football Club.

Individuals continue to be identified, with retrospective action taken against those clearly involved.

The Club politely reminded supporters of conduct ahead of the 2024/25 season, and this message does not change at all.

The Club can be liable of being charged by The FA, with a range of sanctions a clearly outlined possibility if incidents occur, as stated last season and ahead of this season.

Anti-social and inappropriate behaviour / chanting, and the usage of pyrotechnic or missile throwing falls within the remit of the club receiving possible sanctions by the Football Association.

After the start Adam Hinshelwood and his side have had, no supporter of the Football Club would want to see it reach a stage which harms the playing side both financially or with points.

We once again ask to keep your support loud, proud, and behind the white line in the stands, both home and away.

Please do not bring into any stadium any form of pyrotechnic or throwable missile, or engage in any form anti-social behaviour of any kind.

Hear It. See It. Report It. Football is for everyone.

Supporters can text YORK to 60060 (ÂŁ1 per text) to anonymously alert York Stadium Management Company and their stewards to anti-social or discriminatory behaviour within the LNER Community Stadium on home match days.

Stewards are also on hand, both home and away, to help support the supporters.

@MickCordukes: If you did this your not York City supporters and not welcome at our great club . Why damage the ground of the team you’re supposed to support ?

@Rathman30: Who on earth wants to damage a urinal? Absolutely losers

@Calpoted: People on here absolutely know who they are. Have a word with them, Fuck them off, we don’t want them, we don’t need them.

@marco_lowth1975: Joint top of the league best start to a season in a long time “I know let’s kick the bogs in” absolute dickheads name and shame, stadium ban just like the little clown the other week punching a fellow supporter

@90iksoila: 1 pound a text you having a laugh

@YorvikRed: Hopefully a one off. It certainly isn’t a headline for attracting new fans. I’m very sure South standers will be extra vigilant now and will not put up with this. Stay at home if your thinking of trashing our home!

@Dan19451945: This is only problem when something goes well you attract the one pint cocks dont know a single players name just come to neck a shandy then show off. Stay away its our club!!!!

@lotslottie16: What kind of moron does this? Shameful. No true fan would ever do this!

@RichTheRed252: All the feel good around the club and still dickheads wrecking things. Idiots. Shame as only hurts the club.

@reglovesabeer: ÂŁ1 text cost ? Always on the make FFS !!

@yorkshire_kk: Not good at all but this is the only whistle blowing line that I have seen that costs the whistleblower to use, the SMC wants somebody else to pay for it what a surprise, but it just acts as a disincentive to report.

@paulwood72: This is pathetic, it’s our ground ffs!! Get the banning orders handed out

@robinbowes: @YorkSMC It absolutely should not cost ÂŁ1 to report anti-social behaviour. Why is this not a free text service?

@jamesmwoodward: I have no idea who this is specifically aimed at, but whoever it is they should be ashamed of themselves. Not real fans. Numpties.

@mally308: It’s about time the children ‘acting’ hard in the South stand were dealt with. They’re an embarrassment to our club and not real supporters. You’re not big, you’re not clever, you come from a middle class City yet you’re pretending to be hardened hooligans. No one is fooled.

@AlanRaimes: Every home game we have feral youths who use the South Stand toilet cubicles for smoking vaping & drinking tinnies, usually during the game 2/3 in 1 cubicle. SMC should address this proactively & chuck these idiots out. It’s their job. Charging us £1 to tell them is out of order.

@YCFC1972: That’s it people!! Cause Damage to your own clubs amenities. Call these c***ts out. Fucking Neanderthals!! Ask yourself the question why? Making yourself look like right dicks!

@ycfc_connor: Glad the club are addressing this for starters. Second: sure the message will be echoed by others when I say – we simply don’t want you at our club! Wins and the team going forward will always attract more people which is a positive however.. #ycfc

@StuBarker6: Huge pile of sick in the south stand toilets on Tuesday night points to under age drinking and the loss of respect for their surroundings. These people need weeding out, would be an idea adding some stewards long the south stand inner walkway to police it.

@alenbardet: Anyone involved in this is an embarrassment #ycfc

@bixie2016: York supporters – don’t trash your own stadium. Also York supporters – don’t grass up and report silly behaviour of our own, instead let the staff who are paid to do these jobs get involved

@mally308: It’s about time the children ‘acting’ hard in the South stand were dealt with. They’re an embarrassment to our club and not real supporters. You’re not big, you’re not clever, you come from a middle class City yet you’re pretending to be hardened hooligans. No one is fooled.

@AndrewW36190616: Lovely ground and that’s what a few mindless people do. it’s disgusting.

@EverythingWxm: Why should supporters have to pay ÂŁ1 to report anti-social behaviour?
