After finding out that Steve Dale’s takeover of Bury went through without full Football League approval, fans took to vent their frustration at not just the situation, but the EFL too…
Beanhead is killing Notts, Bury in an awful mess, and the FL is more interested that Wimbledon didn't use the name Dons in their program last season.

But Shaun Harvey did a great job! ?♂️

Another great article, David.
Fans at Coventry, Blackpool, Bury, Notts County and others have been screaming out for the EFL's Fit and Proper tests to be strengthened. This shows how the EFL themselves are not even fit and proper – no surprise with Shaun Harvey on board!

The @EFL should be a lot more concerned with this than fretting about the AFC Wimbledon-MK Dons situation. But they won't.

You could do an FA Cup style draw & see how msny clubs are being run by honest people for the right reasons.
No. 4 – Egomanic Chairman riding roughshod over club's fans.
Will play.
32 – Middle East Despots.No.50 – Property Developers.
Will play.

This exposes yet another failure by #EFL to police itself. The situation with Orient, Blackpool and now Bury shows the only way forward is an independent body created to assess ability of prospective owners of football clubs to deliver within the parameters in place. 1/2

If the structure is not fit for purpose the independent body would recommend change. This is not a new problem, but clubs are being strangled. Gateshead are a depressing example of issues outside the EFL.2/2

@DaveJB1962: Why is it that the brilliant journalist that is @david_conn can always unearth these murky happenings but the @EFL seem unable to smell a rabbit off even if it’s 6 week old carcass is right under their noses?
@Some1Pseudonym: So all you have to do to circumvent these fit and proper tests is not tell the EFL until after you’ve transferred the shares? Day and Dale just brazenly cut the so called governing body out of the loop. Genius in its simplicity.
@bigeee70: Just goes to show how toothless and inept the EFL are. I wonder how much in salary Shaun Harvey has robbed these last few years. EFL are also spineless. It’s always an “EFL spokesman said” nobody dares put their name to it. Just turn up and take their inflated salaries
@EricW1991: I think every #buryfc fan will be massively pissed off with this. What is the point of EFL rules if they can just allow someone to takeover a club without following the rules? We’re on the brink because of this. Shambles is too small a word.
@richardholden21: @EFL So if you know he is a crook, I truly hope you can do your job and protect our football club. Don’t care about this season, just get this clown out of our club and let us start again. Many people to blame for this and you guys sadly are one of them #buryfc
@igardnerjnr: This is disgusting what is the point of the rules if they are not put in place. The EFL are a waste of time I can’t believe they have allowed to go on this long. As a Blackpool supporter I feel sorry for the fans rogue owners need to be arradicated from the sport.
