Our live stream ahead of Saturday afternoon’s Premier League match Brighton v Liverpool is now up, kicking off at 12:30pm.
You can keep an eye on the commentary as it happens below, but first, we take a preview into the fixture, lineups, predictions and much more
In each side’s previous game, Brighton beat Aston Villa 2-1. Danny Welbeck scored his first Brighton goal to help the Seagulls to their second Premier League win of the season, despite Tariq Lamptey’s late red card; Ezri Konsa replied for Aston Villa but they lose their third successive home game, falling slightly down the Premier League table.
Liverpool lost in midweek with goals from Josip Ilicic (60) and Robin Gosens (64) securing a deserved 2-0 win for Atalanta at Anfield; the result left Jurgen Klopp’s side still needing one more win to qualify to the last-16 of the Champions League.
PRESS CONFERENCES:
Fans back – difference it will make?
Potter said on fans returning: “It has been a long time. We had a game against Chelsea in pre-season which was a great event and the crowd were fantastic,” he said.
He said they are looking forward to seeing the most important people at the club: the fans.
On home advantage: Potter said you can look at it as an advantage but he said the bigger picture is that fans are returning which is great.
Ever a good time to play Liverpool?: Potter said there is never a good or bad time to play them. He added they have “world class” players still available.
Asked if Klopp had a point on complaining about the timings, Potter said he could see his point. Earlier he said Liverpool are an incredible team with an incredible manager and he has a huge amount of respect for them.
Team news: Leo Trossard available, Adam Lallana may need a bit more time, Solly March had a slight injury on his ankle but sure be okay, pretty much as they were for Aston Villa.
Klopp on fans returning: “We are really waiting for little steps in right direction, in all parts of life. These things with tiers it’s the best idea we have in this moment. Some discussions over advantages, but it’s just small steps. This is a sign for it. I am happy.
Klopp when asked if fans return an advantage for some clubs?: “I understand the discussion over an advantage or disadvantage to some clubs. I am happy we can have 2,000 fans back in, we don’t know how long it will be for. The world is in a difficult place at the moment.”
Klopp on Henderson update: “Hendo trained yesterday and part of an individual session. All the other players they are still in recovery. Only a few days in between so we make late decisions. If you asked me my lineup, I couldn’t tell you. I have to wait for medical dept to tell me.”
Klopp on Brighton: “They make the pitch big and try to use all of it. It will be hard work.
“I have analysts who are honest and they said they are in a really good moment even if the results don’t say so. They have a lot of possession in the games they play. They have a system and stick with it. They haven’t scored often enough.”
Klopp on defensive work: “We will be ready for a lot defensive work. They make the pitch big and we have to be ready for it. We are always but we will be again.”
Klopp on Jota: He has settled in nicely. Very important for us. We cannot play our “usual” front three all the time all season. It’s difficult to improve things but Diogo looks like he can. I am really happy about that.
Klopp on PL places: “A lot of quality in these squads. They all played a good season so far. Not surprised Spurs and Chelsea are there. Southampton look really good, Leicester we know about. A sign it is all close together this season. An interesting season. A lot of chances.”
Klopp on the kick off time: “My thoughts about this are clear. It’s not the time to think about it now. I have to prepare for it. Looks like until end of year it is only us [Weds/Sat]. Whatever I say doesn’t help, so I stop talking. It’s just a waste of time.
“The last thing I want is to create a headline but you say I’ve given up. I speak in a general way. A general problem. In this moment we play in 25 hours and I have to prepare a team. Weds/Sat 12.30, you have to ask other people why they do that. I don’t have the answer.”

THATSAGOAL TIPS:
Liverpool to Win – 10/17 with FanTeam
It’s rare you see odds this long for a Liverpool win. Yes, the Reds haven’t been in top form…yes, they have several key injuries to contend with…and yes, their defence has been suspect at times. However, anyone who watched their last PL game against Leicester is well aware that this is still a top side capable of putting anyone in the league to the sword.
The return of Mo Salah makes a victory against struggling Brighton look all but inevitable. Considering Manchester City’s odds to beat Burnley (1/5) these seem far too kind.
Mark Lawrenson’s prediction: Brighton 0-2 Liverpool
