Late last night, Bradford (Park Avenue) confirmed that they have sacked their managers after two successive 5-0 defeats within a week.
Former Bradford City player Garry Thompson was appointed as boss three months ago, replacing Mark Bower who departed the club.
In terms of pre-season, they played seven, won two, drew two and lost three. Though the board are certainly not pleased with how the season has begun, especially after the thrashings by Curzon Ashton and Guiseley on Saturday and Tuesday.
BRADFORD (PARK AVENUE) CLUB STATEMENT:
“Bradford (Park Avenue) can confirm that Garry Thompson and Shaun Gardner have left the club with immediate effect.
“Gareth Roberts the club chairman said: “As a club, we wholly own this decision and would like to place on record our sincere thanks to the pair for their hard work and commitment to the role.“”
““We regret Garry and Shaun’s time with us has been so short as we really hoped things would work out differently as they are both great guys. We understand there will be question marks over our decision after only a few games in charge but hopefully this will allow them to build good careers in the game. We only wish them well going forward.””
