Bookies favourites to become next Millwall boss

After Neil Harris resigned from his role as Millwall manager on Thursday, we’ve taken a look at who are favourites for the job at The Den.

They are currently winless in their past seven league matches, sit 18th in the Championship table and are five points above the relegation zone.

Take a look at who are the top six favourites below and on the next page.

6) TIM CAHILL

Tim Cahill is a regular pundit on BBC’s football shows including Match of the Day.

On 28 March 2019, the Australian announced his retirement from football at the age of 39.

He had two spells with Millwall, the first being between 1998 and 2004 and the second being a ten game spell in 2018.

The former forward has also played for Everton, New York Red Bulls, Shanghai Shenhua, Hangzhou Greentown, Melbourne City and Jamshedpur.

In his club career, he’s scored 172 in 706 matches. Internationally, he netted 50 times in 108 games.

He has never managed before, so his former club would be his first if he does get the job.

It’s reported that he went back to Everton this week to help complete his coaching badges.

Current odds on Sky Bet: 8/1

5) STEVE MORISON

Steve Morison is a much loved former Millwall player, a club he’s had three spells at. They came in 2009-11, 2013-14 and 2015-19. He’s played 293 matches and scored 75 times with them.

He is currently playing for League One side Shrewsbury Town, making seven appearances so far this season.

Morison has also played for Northampton, Bishop’s Stortford, Stevenage, Norwich and Leeds.

He has already completed his coaching badges according to reports.

4) ROY KEANE

In June 2019, Roy Keane rocketed straight into the top three favourites for the Doncaster Rovers job after leaving his assistant manager role at Nottingham Forest on the 23rd of June.

However he didn’t get the job and instead it went to former West Brom boss Darren Moore. Keane also was linked with going to Sunderland as Jack Ross was at one point under pressure to keep his job.

The former Manchester United player is keen to relaunch his own managerial career it’s been reported after previously managing the Black Cats and Ipswich Town before being assistant at Ireland and Aston Villa.

He is currently a pundit on Sky Sports’ Premier League coverage.

Current odds on Sky Bet: 6/1
