Bolton have been praised over posting a superb shithousery TikTok video mocking comments made by Burton manager Dino Maamria
Substitutes Amadou Bakayoko and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson sealed a dramatic League One comeback victory as the Trotters finally ended their curse against the Brewers.
Bodvarsson produced scenes on the pitch, in the stands and on the touchline with a late winner in the eighth minute of stoppage time after Bakayoko equalised on the 87th minute.
Bolton’s win was their first in eight meetings against Burton, having lost five and drawn two of their previous meetings dating back to 2015.
That run looked set to continue when Sam Hughes headed in Terry Taylor’s 72nd-minute corner, the defender’s first goal since last January.
And even after Bakayoko struck, Burton still pushed to extend their unbeaten run in all competitions to five games.
Kieran Lee smacked his effort against the post for the hosts and, when Ben Garratt saved brilliantly from Conor Bradley, Albion looked to have held on.
Instead, Bodvarsson got his left-footed shot from 12 yards and was booked for his celebrations but he moved Ian Evatt’s side up to fifth, while Burton sit firmly in the bottom four.
Burton boss Dino Maamria claimed the officials needed to be “stronger” and was left rather baffled as to how much time was added on.
“The fourth official puts up seventh minutes. I’m not sure where the seven minutes came from, and what hurts most is scored in the eighth minute of added time,” said Maamria.
“To come to these places you have to be organised, you have to be confident and brave with the ball. You have to manage the environment, and we have done all that.
“Also, you need strong officials and I didn’t feel that tonight. I don’t know where the seven minutes came from and to play eight minutes, I thought the crowd got into him a bit and he gave into that.”
He goes on: “I have just said to the players, we have got to look at 87 minutes. We have produced fantastic football, we have executed a gameplan, we have totally limited them.
“We scored a fantastic goal and could easily have got a second with Jonny Smith on the counter. Probably the biggest disappointment is that first goal because when you come to places like this, momentum can easily shift.
“You see the fans behind them and the squad they have got, they put five subs on. But actually we dealt with that.”
He added: “But we look at the goals we conceded – really poor goals. The first one is really poor. The second one from a corner, we should have easily dealt with it, one or two players in the wrong position.
“They had a free man and that should never happen last kick of the game.”
Maamria was frustrated at full time. When questioned about the post-match scenes which you can see below, he said: “Since you’ve mentioned that – when they come to our place, we’ll give them a good game.”

Bolton must have took note of what Burton’s manager had to say, as they took to TikTok and posted a video with the cation: “🫢 Karma comes in all different shapes and sizes…”
In it, they make a clear point of all the times the game had stoppages or timewasting. The clip has gone on to get over 51,000 views.
Meanwhile, Ian Evatt had his say after the game which also saw tempers flare on the touchline, though he says he has no grudge with Dino Maamria.
On a melee after the final whistle between both sets of staff and asked if it things had ‘got a little tasty’ Evatt shrugged: “Yes and no. We were all extremely frustrated with how the game was going. But what I will say is, it shows massively our togetherness.
@officialbwfc 🫢 Karma comes in all different shapes and sizes…
“You saw the celebrations from the bench, from the staff, from the support team, from the stands, from the players themselves. It means a great deal to us to win football matches, to us all.
“We didn’t mean any offence to them, we were just trying to celebrate with our team. If people choose to take offence to that then we will apologise and say it wasn’t meant that way. As I said, we just wanted to celebrate with our team because we work extremely hard to try to gain results for this football club.”
Evatt responded to Maamria’s comment about the next time they meet: “It is a long way away and we both shouldn’t surmise that we will still be in charge because we know football is a funny game and April is a long, long time away.
“What I will say is this team, this group, this club has really come together and we are fighting tooth and nail for every result.
“We will be looking forward to every challenge and going there will be no different.”
As mentioned, Bolton have been praised over posting a superb shithousery TikTok video mocking Burton and the comments made by their manager…
