Birmingham City fans take issue with article written for the Mirror

Birmingham City fans take issue with article written for the Mirror this week, talking of corporate fans being dealt with a 60% price hike.

A growing number of the club’s fanbase have taken to the replies section of the tweet which was put up on Wednesday morning (12 June).

The tweet read: “🔵 Birmingham City owners hit corporate fans with 60 percent price hike despite relegation.”

In the report, it says Birmingham City’s corporate supporters are hit with a significant price increase of more than 60% despite the club’s relegation to League One with the cost of seats in the Legends Lounge up to £2,925 from £1,800.

Birmingham defend their decision to increase prices for their corporate fans, saying in a statement, within the Mirror article: “The club is spending up to £15m this summer making improvements to St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park and the two training grounds.

“A significant investment is being made in our corporate hospitality offerings. We have upgraded what used to be the Legends, Jasper Carrott and Boardroom club. And we have created a new hospitality facility in the Gil Merrick.

“The catering and service for all the new lounges will be provided by Levy, the company that is responsible for Wimbledon, Twickenham, Tottenham Hotspur and a host of other Premier League clubs. The pricing for each one reflects the excellent experience our fans will enjoy.

“For those who do not require that level of hospitality, we are able to offer and enjoyable experience in the Wiseman and Captain’s club, both in the Main Stand.

“We will also be offering general admission fans the opportunity to enjoy the new Box to Box bar and food area in the Kop St and and the new permanent Fan Zone close to the Tilton and Main Stands.

“The goal is to be able to offer all our supporters an experience that meets their needs and delivers excellent value for money.”

As mentioned, Birmingham City fans take issue with an article written for the Mirror…

@mynameismrjrb: There are different tiers of corporate hospitality. Some cost more and some cost less. Misleading and shambolic headline/article.

@LeModFootball1: They’ve just created more levels of corporate hospitality. Both cheaper and more expensive levels are available.

@ChrisCOB_OB: Not worth the energy, what a poor journalist he is. There’s a few hundred corporates that have been moved due to the redevelopment of the stadia. No news here really. New owners are doing everything in their power to make our club and fans proud. Negative plonker!

@Gary06634239: Neil moxley, I notice you haven’t mentioned the 15m the owners are spending on ST ANDREWS and the training ground. Or the transfer budget. Take your negativity somewhere else fella

@MarkBevington: Some of the season tickets have reduced in price. Misleading journalism by Moxley. He’s got an axe to grind against the American owners. Pathetic.

@jamesajh1st: Surprise surprise, Mr Moxley try’s to find a negative in all of the great things the Birmingham owners are doing.

@nathancarty112: Wish the club would bann him not a fan in my eyes

@nathan_culbert: 🤦🏼‍♂️ This bloke. I’m so glad you blocked me 😁 DVB

@mickyh01: Mox ? Seriously what is a matter with you ? Ignore the season price drop, Ignore the 15 mill spent on facilities in your headline . Good journalism is dying. Get a grip mate 👍

@antbcfc4812: Negative Neil out in force again, good to see he’s not still bitter that his mates didn’t get the club 🤡🤡

@Kieranbcfc2: Moxley being negative. I am shocked.

@Bcfckofi14: ignoring the fact that for the average fan STs went down on the most part 👌🏻

@_K_R_O__: Moxley looking at the negative again. My shock

@zdpj_: This bloke never has a good thing to say about Blues. Ask him why are fans so positive despite relegation?

@Jak_Collier: You really are bitter that your pal Bassini and Co never got in aren’t you

@georgeward_: God forbid the club makes money 😡😡 #BradyOut

@bradmandon85260:
Badnews Moxley
Blues fan my arse

@zipzapzad: This article is wrong. Shocking misrepresentation of the facts. Poor journalism.

@KDazman: ‘60% Corporate Price Hike’ headline – The Mirror proudly sticking up and highlighting key issues that affect their working class readers!!! – ‘#BCFC Season Ticket prices reduced, frozen or minimal increase – welcomed by supporters’ may have been more relevant!!

@LeeW1875: What a load of bullshit and misleading headline. Moxley you have no shame. Awful journalism.

@LeeAHinton95:
Positive with a new manager.
Transfer rumours starting and seeming positive.
Negative Moxley was never far away…

@9_Hendo: Here comes Mox again at the back post with draining negativity after a few days of positives with Davies in and transfer rumours… Of course the prices would go up given the improvements and money spent on the Corporate set up. This is the premium standard after all.

@KroB91875: I wonder who the journalist I… oh 😂

@DTL1875: Spent millions on improving the facilities, was always bound to be a price increase?

@HarryMcDukesJnr: I’m about as worried of this than I am with VAT being added to private school fees.

@Bobby_Dave_: Oh no what a shame…anyway…🤣🤣 anyone remotely concerned about this needs to give their heads a wobble! #bcfc

@TheGJRichards: Moxley agenda strikes again #BCFC #KRO

@delves1: This bloke just feeds off negativity, we have failed FFP and skated on thin ice for years, they have improved corporate area because our capacity was under the efl average, that’s where the big matchday money is in modern football. For all we know the new corporate areas could be as good as the alliance suite #KRO #BCFC

@AWCAIB: Pump multi millions on making your corporate experience ten times better, but nah don’t worry lads we’ll keep the prices the same. Somebody introduce Moxley to a Portuguese man o’ war

@BluesFocus: The £15million investment reflects the price hike. Moving on… #BCFC

@carlosno1geez: Looking at the huge improvement plans for hospitality at the club if I was a local business or wealthier individual you’d have no issue paying the uplift price, a total non story
