Aldershot’s Ricky Miller shows off a gruesome injury he picked up on his debut in the local derby against Woking on Saturday.
He scored the only goal of the game to win his new side an important three points to take the Shots up to 12th in the National League table.
It was on New Year’s Day that he joined the club and he’s made instant impact, help to guide his side away from the relegation zone and up to mid-table and now are only 2 points off the playoffs.
He grafted hard for the win though, so much so that at one point he picked up a horrid injury, though is very determined to be playing the next fixture.

Ricky Miller came off the bench to score on his Aldershot Town debut from a Toby Edser set-piece to make it six points in seven days.
ALDERSHOT STATEMENT ON THE SIGNING:
The 31 year-old spent his youth career in both League One side Charlton Athletic’s and local rivals Woking FC’s youth systems, before successful spells within non-league that saw the forward earn moves into the EFL with the likes of Luton Town, Peterborough United, Mansfield Town and most recently Port Vale.
But it was in the National League systems where Miller played his best football, scoring 28 goals in 46 games for National League North side Boston United in 2013-14, before going onto to score 22 goals in 54 games in the National League with Dover Athletic in 2015-16.
However it was the season after in 2016-17 that saw Miller’s best return of goals in professional football, scoring 45 goals in 46 games for Dover as they narrowly missed out on a play-off position, with the forward finishing the season as top scorer in the National League, 15 goals clear of second-placed Christian Doidge.
Having had a year out from football, Miller will relish coming back into the National League and both he and Aldershot Town will be hoping he replicates the same kind of form he showed the last time he played at this level, as he looks to be involved in our derby away trip to Woking this Saturday.
He will wear number 30 during his time with us at Aldershot Town.
Ricky said upon his arrival at the club: “I’ve got a point to prove that I’m still capable of what I’ve done.
“I feel fitter than I did at Dover and I’ve come a long way since then as well, so I’m hoping I can pick up where I left off.”
Welcome to Aldershot Town Ricky!
