Aldershot owner’s disrespectful pre-match comments about already relegated Brackley sparks backlash from fans.

Deane Wood spoke to BBC Sport Surrey, with a short clip being posted on social media, including the quote “Losing against a team that’s a part time nobody team.”

Wood also spoke to radio station on the departure of John Coleman, who takes charge of his final game at half 12 on Saturday.

Last weekend, Brackley beat Aldershot 2-1. When they met earlier this season, both sides drew 2-2.

Brackley are already down, sitting 21st, with 42 points from 45 games going into the last game of the season W10, D12, L23, GF40, GA72, GD-32). Aldershot are safe, 20th with 46 points from 45 games played (W13, D7, L25, GF69, GA85, GD-16).

In the video, he said: “No, we did shake on it, me and John, but ah losing against a team, I’m not being funny, that’s a part-time nobody team, ah, 13 games, one win, one draw. Just gets harder and harder, doesn’t it?

“So we’ve not fell out of nothing. We still talk. We were together yesterday, had a pint. I think maybe it’s time for him to move on.”
