7th tier club set up GoFundMe page with plea to help save them and their future

7th tier club Bamber Bridge have had to set up a GoFundMe page with a plea for fans to help save them and their future.

Bamber Bridge, who currently play in the Northern Premier League Premier Division, are reaching out to the Football community, looking for urgent fundraising.

They have set the goal at £30,000 to keep the club afloat for the upcoming season. Can you possibly help them?

They currently sit 10th in their division with 14 points from 10 games played (W4 D2 L4), better start to how they ended last season, finishing 16th with 47 points from 40 games, 17 points clear of the drop zone and 23 points from the playoffs.

They said via the donation page: “Bamber Bridge Football Club needs you!

“We’re reaching out to our amazing community to help us keep our beloved local team alive and kicking for the upcoming season.

“Bamber Bridge FC is in urgent need of fundraising support, with a goal of £30,000 to help cover staff costs, balance the books, and keep our playing squad competitive at the level it deserves. With your help, we can overcome this challenge and secure the future of the club for years to come.

“Playing in the Northern Premier League (step 3 of non-league football), Bamber Bridge has been a proud part of Preston’s sporting scene for decades. We’ve called the Sir Tom Finney Stadium home since 1987, and one of our proudest moments was hosting the Czech Republic national team in a historic Euro 96 warm-up match, drawing a crowd of 2,300.

“Sadly, this season’s financial outlook isn’t as bright. With sponsorships dropping and attendance numbers falling, we’ve found ourselves in a tight spot. But we believe in the power of our supporters and the community that surrounds us – together, we can weather this storm.

“Outside support is being brought in to help, and we’re confident that, with your help, the future of Bamber Bridge FC will be brighter than ever.

“Any contribution, big or small, will go a long way in keeping the heart of this club beating. The club are still looking for Sponsorships and would encourage those interested to reach out. Thank you for your support.”

The Bamber Bridge first team manager Jamie Milligan tweeted: “Can everyone get behind this please, what a brilliant club with great volunteers involved. The club has such a good history and would be a shame if it went under 👍”

Here’s how fans reacted as the 7th tier club set up a GoFundMe page with a plea to help save them and their future…

@Rumbugger1: @pnefc. Collection outside/ inside ground at our next Saturday home game?🙏

@BernieBaldwin: Done. I hope you reach your full amount as quickly as @AFCWimbledon fans reached their initial target. All the best.

@GazWalker6: Played here for PNE and Bamber Bridge. Cracking club.. chucked a few quid in hope you get there..

@JSGCFootball: It is very sad to see a football club like this as they are great community club. If you can help donate to save the club please do in link from Bamber Bridge FC.

@RyanCromie: #pnefc should help out a little bit

@_jnr93: Would be a massive shame to see a club like this disappear.

@HaydontheWomble: A huge thank you to all the #FootballFamily for supporting #AfcWimbledon in our time of need. Been humbled by so many teams fans. @BamberBridgeFC also need help, their #mascot @TheBrigCat has attended #EpsomMascotDerby each year & is fab, so please donate if you can #AFCW

@JakeEnglish_: These are the gofundme’s which are actually necessary, and should be supported. But because it’s a northern non-league side and not as ‘flashy’, it won’t get anywhere near the levels of attention that Wimbledon’s flooded pitch did.

@CatholicRover: Surely people from @rovers and @pnefc can help… plenty of fans from both clubs also go down to watch Bamber bridge….

@foreveroufc: sad to see, really hope the football family can help turn a negative into a positive, just like we have seen with wimbledon this week. let’s help save this great football club, can’t be having another go under like we’ve seen so many unfortunately go through in recent years
