Wrexham and Shrewsbury fans go on the wind up with cheeky chants made during the two sides’ first league meeting since 2008.
The home fans sang such songs as “Are you Chester in disguise”, “Shrewsbury get battered” as well as Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau (Welsh anthem), only for Shrewsbury fans to respond with God Save the King, which is meet by boos and jeers.
Jack Marriott shuts them up to make it 3-0 to Wrexham, taking all three points to go top of the League One table in front over 13,300 fans at the Racecourse Ground.

It took 15 minutes for the hosts to go in front, Ollie Palmer in the right place to fire home a fantastic low finish from James McClean’s cross.
Ollie came extremely close to a second, but his effort was blocked at the last moment, before a stupendous run down the right-flank, Ryan Barnett found Elliott Lee to glide the ball into the bottom corner just before half time.
With around half hour of the game to go, Thomas O’Connell’s long ball wasn’t dealt with by Aristote Nsiala, and Marriott pounced in behind to extend Wrexham’s advantage.
Wrexham AFC: Okonkwo, Cleworth, O’Connell, O’Connor, Barnett, Rathbone (Jones 71’), Dobson, Lee, McClean © (Revan 81’), Marriott (Mullin 71’), Palmer (Fletcher 71’).
Subs not used: Burton (G/K), Scarr, Faal.
Shrewsbury Town: Savin, Benning, Feeney, Winchester ©, Lloyd, Ojo, Gilliead, Bloxham (Sagoe JR 64’), Castedline (O’Reilly 60’), Nsiala(Feeney 64’), Shipley.
Subs not used: Young (G/K), Perry, Nurse, Marquis.
Man of the Match: James McClean
Attendance: 13,341 (1,268 away)
Shrewsbury boss Paul Hurst said, per Shropshire Star: “For quite a bit of the game at 2-0, we were well in the game, but they are very good at what they do and punished a couple of mistakes.
“They certainly punished a mistake with the third goal; in reality, it killed the game off.
“We spoke at half-time about the importance of the third goal because I felt if we could get it naturally the score line can make the crowd and team edgy.
“We started the second half well, but like I said, you have to give them credit; they are very good at what they do.
“We spoke on Friday about how they are quite comfortable without the ball; we have had times when we haven’t had the ball in games and done okay.
“Ultimately, we gave them a helping hand in terms of the goals, and it makes an already difficult task so much harder.
“I think they almost lull you in if I am being honest the last two times I have been here we have had plenty of the ball.
“You sort of feel like you are causing them issues to a degree and the next minute they kind of almost break and score.
“What I would say is they work extremely hard without the ball. We spoke about that.
“That is what Phil (Parkinson) has got his team doing. It may be easier when the scoreline is in your favour but they do work really hard and make life difficult.
“They have still got some good players and they put that work in.”
Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson said, per The Leader: “It’s a great start for us, it really is. We’re pleased but five games in now, we know it doesn’t count for a great deal.
“But we have to be pleased with our work so far this season and now we can take a deep breath.
“It means a lot for our supporters.
“You could sense that in the build-up to the game, and I said to the players beforehand, there were a lot of people talking about the game everywhere you went, they were mentioning the rivalry. So it’s a special feeling when you win a derby game.
“We are going to enjoy it but we will reflect and look forward to Tuesday as well.”
