West Ham fans had seen enough and decided to head for the exits early on the 76th minute with Chelsea winning 3-0.
Nicolas Jackson scored twice and Cole Palmer grabbed a third to clinch a big victory for Chelsea over a woeful West Ham side who were booed off by the remaining home fans.
The Hammers have lost their first three home games of a league season for the first time in their history, while Chelsea are building momentum under Enzo Maresca.

West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui: “Very, very frustrated today, for sure. We had big expectation for the match.
“We worked a lot to prepare for it. I have to review it again but it has been a very soft way to lose. We suffered two early goals where we have to do better.
“We had chances and more of the ball, but goals are more important. We were not consistent. In the Premier League, if you want to compete, you have to be consistent.”
On the boos of the home fans: “It’s normal when you lose. They have the right to complain. We know this. That’s why we are the only solution to change this.
“We have to do better, all of us, but first of all, me. We have to improve but it’s the start of the season. We have a lot of time to do this.”
Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca: “Very pleased with the performance and three points. That is most important, the clean sheet also. It has been a complete performance, so we are very happy.
“The way the players are buying [into] the idea and the different style since I arrived has been top. And also the way we are working off the ball.
John Southall (BBC Radio 5 Live commentator): There’s boos to the left of the stadium and there’s not many West Ham fans. Credit to Chelsea, but West Ham were awful.
Nicolas Jackson was pushed in front of the supporters and I think today you can see why he is preferred to Christopher Nkunku. He offers so much to the team.
Former Chelsea and West Ham midfielder Joe Cole, speaking to TNT Sports: “Chelsea were dominant, strong, positive, all the things Chelsea fans having been longing to say about their team.
“West Ham couldn’t lay a glove on them. It was a real strong showing all over the park. This could be the firsts time we have seen a real glimpse of what this new Chelsea is capable of.
“That is what the Chelsea fans want to see. From start to finish every player played their part. They look like a club moving in the right direction. I haven’t seen Chelsea fans as happy as that for a long, long time.
“They look like they have a clear way of playing, they look like a happy team. The counter-attacking was exceptional, there were glimpses which reminded me of the Liverpool side with Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Firmino. Finally things are starting to turn and Chelsea fans can be quietly optimistic.”
On forward Nicolas Jackson, he added: “I think Enzo Maresca saw they could break past West Ham and Nicolas Jackson is fantastic at that. It’s what he does.
“[He has] good numbers. He is a young man, a young player, he’s learning his trade. People talked about Didier Drogba’s first two seasons when he wasn’t as prolific as he later became. Nevertheless, he has scored the goals and he will get better.
“He needs to just keep improving, be a bit more composed and [gain] more confidence. He will bounce into the next game now. I am very, very pleased for him.”
Chelsea forward Cole Palmer, speaking to TNT Sports: “A tough place to come and a good three points, we are happy.
“Everybody knows he [Nicolas Jackson] is a top player – he needs to keep going. The Chelsea fans and players rate him highly – we know what he is capable of.
“There will always be noise, we try to block it out and listen to the manager. We have a good manager and it can only help us to get better.”
Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson, speaking to TNT Sports about his confidence: “Growing higher with my team-mates, they help me a lot and they have confidence in me.
“We keep going. This one is finished and next week we go onto another one.
“The most important thing is for the team to win.
“I am happy to play always. To fight for the team and the team to win is the most important thing.”
West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen, speaking to TNT Sports: “We were never in the game which is an awful thing to say.
“The goals that they scored were easy on our part – two gifts.
“You have to be switched on in every moment. On the pitch it felt quite easy to play through [us], a disappointing day all-round.
“Of course, as a player and captain you have to lead and rally everyone together. We gave them too much respect in the end.
“Disappointing day, we accept the defeat. The game is done and we put it to bed and see what we can improve on. Games are coming thick and fast to put it right.
“We still have a lot of games to go and that is a positive for us.”
Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson, speaking to BBC MOTD: “Trying to play for the team every game. I scored two and I am happy – we won which is most important.
“We controlled the game early. Always the keepers go one side and it was a good finish [for his opening goal].
“Plenty of talk and I have been injured for two months, I come back fresh and I hope to get more.
“I am trying to work hard and do more than last year.”

Twitter users reacted after West Ham fans head for the exits on the 76th minute with Chelsea winning 3-0…
@WestHamJoshV: Not always about the defeat to rivals, particularly derbies, but the manner of defeat is the more important thing. And it’s safe to say Chelsea would have had tougher training sessions than the performance West Ham produced for them this afternoon. Woeful.
@WestHamJoshV: New manager but still no clear plan. The players look absolutely lost. Been all over the place yet again against Chelsea. West Ham must be the only team in the PL that play every single week without an actual plan of how to play.
@chriswhu91: We can move the ball from defence to midfield to the wing smoothly but as soon as we enter the final third we become tight and congested. AWB & Emerson also find themselves amongst the crowd and Kilman not far from the edge of the area. We are then exposed. Why? What is this?
@brooksyruns89: This number of games in, I’ll be truthful and I’ve seen no improvement at all.
@LeoBoi18: 3-0 at home to a london rival is embarrassing. No game play no tactics no nothing. Could be in for some bumpy next couple of games 😭
@MichaelZdenek: Well. Judging by this performance I think Chelsea could squeak into the top 8. Unfortunately for us I can’t see us finishing above 15th
@jameswhyte81: A bunch of players that looks completely lost. No leaders, no captain balling out players. No intensity, slow midfield that can’t physically press. It’s literally no surprise. Midfield signings will struggle with the pace. The one deal we needed was Duran. So poor
@Jowhua66: Really really poor and that’s on the manager. Summerville the brightest spark and didn’t play past the hour? I’d rather Zouma/Aguerd than Mavropanos, Todibo has to play his way to fitness. Paqueta very wasteful. Expect a bigger performance at home versus a rival. Results needed.
@jaymeeteewhu98: Dreadful. That’s putting it nicely. 😒⚒️🫧
@JerromTommy: Completely unacceptable, the problem I had with Moyes was a so called defensive manager not being able to get his team to defend. And nothing has changed under JLo, and it needs to quick he’s under massive pressure already 😡😡
@TroyClarkWhelan: If I am honest, not much has changed. We are still slow, can’t control a game and our defending is still shocking. Plus Lopetegui is not doing himself any favours by not giving Todibo game time and taking Summerville off when he was our best player.
@rickwhufc: That performance today is a bunch of players already not playing for their manager, I’ve been saying give it time but that was absolutely pathetic, they’re not having him. Massive changes in attitude needed, disgraceful performance they should all be embarrassed by themselves
@IrishIron32: It was never about ‘be careful what you wish for’. It was always appreciating the job Moyes did. Excluding the end, as it had fallen apart by then with the contract situation, I felt some were ungrateful for the job he’d done. They may now start to at least see my point of view.
@UpperGwladysBlu: Remember when West Ham thought getting a big stadium would make them a top 6 team? And then got rid of Moyes (their best manager for 40yrs) for Lopetegui, who has now lost his first 3 home games.
