‘We need radical change’ – Miron Muslic apologises to Plymouth fans after witnessing a 5-0 defeat to Burnley on Wednesday night.
Two goals each from Zian Flemming and Josh Laurent, as well as one from Josh Cujllen, sealed a thumping win for the Clarets.
The result means Burnley are unbeaten in 15 games and two points behind 2nd place Sheffield United, while Plymouth are still bottom of the Championship, six points from safety and without a win in 14 league games.
Never seen so many people leave before the end of the first half that was fucking embarrassing no fight no passion league 2 standard at best hallett sell up and fuck off you useless prick @SimonHallett #pafc pic.twitter.com/dlFzyFCiSC

Plymouth’s Morgan Whittaker didn’t play in the game, with Muslic saying he “did not show up” in time, having been picked by the head coach to start the match, but wasn’t in the team or among the substitutes.
Whittaker instead watched the game from the stands. The 24-year-old has been linked with a Ā£5million-plus move to Burnley during the January transfer window. Middlesbrough also said to be interested.
“Morgan didn’t show up,” Muslic, who had recently praised Whittaker’s professionalism with the speculation, told BBC Sport.
“We had a game today and he was in the selection and he wasn’t there.”
Muslic still an Argyle player until a club pays a fee Plymouth feel is appropriate.
“It shows the mentality, or even the lack of mentality,” Muslic said on Whittaker, who’s netted 24 goals in 72 games whilst becoming a Plymouth player permanently in 2023.
“I think you always have your responsibilities and you are under contract.
“You have to be professional, you have obligations, not only towards Argyle as an organisation, you have an obligation towards your team-mates and you don’t let your team-mates down, never.”
Please donāt tarnish your reputation here, Morgan.
We get it, I wouldnāt want to be in a relegation fight when those pushing for promotion are interested either – but this isnāt the way to do it.#pafc

Plymouth’s Miron Muslic, per Sky Sports:
“A tough one for sure. I take full responsibility for the performance and full responsibility for the result.
“Again very similar to QPR, we gave the first goal away on a silver plate to the opponent due to an individual mistake.
“OK, that’s football and this can happen but then the reaction was the team gave up in this moment by not really showing the desire to fight until the end and (then) you go into half-time with a five goal difference.
“It takes a lot of courage to get out of the locker room and continue playing for the next 45 minutes and I demanded this courage. Not to change the result, because that was impossible, but to face this tough and harsh reality and this might help us for the next time, for the next couple of weeks.
“We have to be brave. We need to get another mentality, another energy inside.
“What happened today has happened a couple of times already this season.
“The most important thing is to support the squad we have here with reinforcements and then we can start the challenge again. Hopefully we have some positive news with this.
“As soon as we get reinforcements in we can start to be competitive again.”
Burnley’s Scott Parker:
“I thought we were superb tonight. The players were absolutely first class. We were just ruthless tonight.
“I thought first half, everything about us really was good. We came here with a real idea and gameplan and obviously we set it up as coaches and it’s down to players to then execute it.
“We needed to come here with a mentality and a mindset about us. This is a tough place to come.
“I know people look at league tables and may see it very differently but (I see) new manager in, and an aggressive team.
“I played against this coach once in Belgium and had some struggles in the sense of how he sets up teams so knew the challenge here.
“But I was pleased tonight we have come away with a few goals as well.
“Every game is going to big for us from now on. We now go into a massive game (against Leeds).”
Twitter users reacted as Miron Muslic apologises to Plymouth fans after the 5-0 defeat to Burnley…
@mickyh01: Even when Rooney left us, the damage within the squad was already done. Certainly looks likes history repeating
@kelly_dink: I feel this is the consequence of having Rooney and the aftermath. Hope the boardroom feel proud of that PR stunt, itās probably cost us staying up. I feel for Miron, bloke seems really lovely and has probably been sold a lie. This needs to change. Fast.
@ShaunVincent85: Players have thrown the towel in on him, disgrace
@StevieWotsa: He needs is to build his own structure give him the time and the funds to do it. The team is a mix of 3 managers he can only do his best it isnt down to Muslic. To the players this is your career if you dont like the circumstances at least do it for the fans that pay the wages.š
@JacquesHubbarde: āI take the full responsibilityā what a bloke. PR 10/10 š
@MaccaSouth: Actually quite rate how Muslic is refusing to buckle, refusing to play the clubs āsweep things under the carpetā and āplay it downā routine. Heās fully ready to throw players under the bud who arenāt pulling their weight. Fully ready to call out a year of shite decisions. #pafc
@JamesW_44: We have got far too many players who donāt care. Weak when things get tough, hide in a corner and give up. Time for an exodus
@td_pafc: poor bloke doesnāt know what he signed up for
@FashGang: Perhaps releasing Ogbeta and Palsson from their contracts would be a good start?
@Argyle83: Inherited too much dross and dead wood feel sorry for the guy the players arenāt even trying for him
@Bigsavi: Play Finn, Roberts and Isakka… against Liverpool and other games for that sake..Sorinola Bundu and Pleggy the only others giving it a go out there tonight
@lwestlake7: These players donāt care! They show no fight! If they cared we would have seen that 3/4 games ago, itās done, fans walking out before half time says it all, disgraceful from top to bottom, muslic been fed a lot of rubbish and has to deal with all this negativity around
@MyRightSwing: A Championship club with a League 2 Boardroom.
@StewEwens: The Owners lack of ambition are showing, they are in it for a hobby, Argyle need new owners who have financial clout and know about football
@ChiIdishDanbino: iāve accepted relegation now.. so the only thing on my wish list: i hope fans stay off of Muslicās back, heās been set up to fail and this relegation is not his fault, im eager to see him in league one where weāll have plenty of money to back and support him #pafc
