Meanwhile, another incident led to a young Peterborough fan likely to receive a banning order after letting off pyrotechnics during the game.
The club said they would issue banning orders to any fan who were found to have let off flares during the League One fixture.
A 16 year old boy, who stood in the London Road End, will face the punishment having been arrested by police.
A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Police said: āA 16-year-old boy from Peterborough has been arrested in connection with possess a firework/flare at a sporting event on October 7, 2023.
āHe has been released on police bail to return to the station on January 6 2024.ā
A club statement read: āThe club can confirm that arrests were made following the use of pyrotechnics in the Weston Homes London Road Stand and the Deskgo Stand during the Sky Bet League One fixture against Lincoln City on Saturday afternoon.
āClub banning orders will be issued to those arrested. Pyrotechnics are dangerous to fans, players, officials and everyone in the ground and anyone caught using them will face banning orders.ā
The game itself saw Peterborough beat Lincoln, stretching their unbeaten League One run to six matches.
Lincoln came close to going into the break ahead, Danny Mandroiu saw his lifted a shot smack the bar, before Sean Roughan missed with a free header from a corner.
The Posh stepped it up in the second half however, with David Ajiboye subbed on and netted a spectacular goal in the 53rd minute, going forward after receiving a pass from Ephron Mason-Clark pass and aimed the 20-yard strike past goalkeeper Lukas Jensen.
Peterborough then extended their lead in the 83rd minute through Joel Randall’s first EFL goal for the club, coming over two years after he first arrived.
He calmly controlled a cut back from Mason-Clark cutback from the left and sent it past Jensen to seal the win.
It could have been 3-0 in the closing stages, with Harrison Burrows also hitting the woodwork.
Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson had been on the touchline despite the death of his mother.
His assistant Kieran Scarff said: “All I can say on behalf of Darren is how much he values and appreciates the support he has had from the players, the staff across the club and the fans.
“It’s always important to win football matches and perhaps there was a little bit more added to that today.”
Scarff added on the game, as per Peterborough Today: āIām absolutely delighted. It was really important to go into the enforced break weāre about to have with three points.
āFor large spells, it was a really good performance. The players deserve loads of credit, they really do.
āLincoln are a well drilled team, they set up how we expected. We started well and then defensively, they made it difficult for us.
āWe spoke at half time about increasing our tempo and getting the ball speed right and not getting spooked that they were sitting off us.
āScoring that goal early in the second half was important to open the game up. Weāre delighted with the performance.
āThe first was a great strike, we broke quickly; David is quick and direct, itās a great finish. Iām delighted for him, thatās two in two home games.
āThe second is great for Joel and his belief and confidence,. His performances have been generally good. He came off the bench in the week and made a real impact and he was really good again today.
“We felt his qualities as a ten would be really important for us today and he showed that.
āThe forward line have all contributed, weāve created a lot of good chances early in the game and in the second, we had the chance to score more but weāre more than happy with the 2-0.
āThis break probably comes at the right time, it gives the players the and staff the chance to refresh and then weāll go again.ā
