Neil Warnock’s X-rated rant at the officials during a Middlesbrough pre-season fixture at Bishop Auckland was caught on video this week.
It was the Championship outfit’s first friendly of the summer and came away with a 3-0 win at Heritage Park with the Boro boss bringing a strong squad game for the encounter.
Ahead of the game. several new signings including Joe Lumley, Sammi Ameobi, Uche Ikpeazu and Lee Peltier were expected to feature.

Lineup: Joe Lumley; Anfernee Djiksteel, Grant Hall, Dael Fry, Hayden Coulson; Paddy McNair, Sam Morsy; Marcus Tavernier, Dylan Bahamboula, Duncan Watmore; Uche Ikpeazu
On the bench: James, Spence, Gitau, Peltier, Wood, Marshall, M.Djiksteel, Wing, Sivi, Willis, Gibson, Kavanagh, Akpom
On the 6th minute, Boro had the first effort on goal. Tavernier’s jinking run from the left finds Watmore on the edge of the box. His effort was tame and it was saved down to his right by the keeper.
Shortly after, a well worked move from Boro saw Coulson break free into the box from the left but his cross was saved.
Then Uche Ikpeazu opened his body out and rifled his shot off the underside of the bar. Some way to introduce himself.
On the 13th minute, Duncan Watmore had the ball in the net after a low finish from Djiksteel’s cross but the linesman’s flag was up for offside.
Bahamboula was crunched in the middle of the parl, eventually getting up but Neil Warnock was not a happy man.
The Bishop Auckland manager certainly got an earful from the Boro boss.
You could hear him on the 21st minute shouting “…there’s no need to fucking follow through like that, you can win the fucking ball.”
On the 26th minute, McNair sent in another trademark whipped cross that met the head of Ikpeazu but it was not a great connection as he flashes his header wide.
Dylan Bahamboula, on trial from Oldham, was making an impression, finding plenty of space on the ball and looked very comfortable running at defenders showing tricky and skill.
With 10 minutes of the first half remaining, a breakaway move from one end to the other saw Ikpeazu release Tavernier. His jinking run in the box saw him sidestep two Bishop players but his shot curls just wide inside the box.
Moments later, Duncan Watmore once again had the ball in the net but it was ruled out. He met Coulson’s cross with a header which flashes passed the Bishop keeper but the linesman’s flag was up.
Hitting out at the linesman, the Boro was shouting “How can he be fucking offside there lino?! Ay?! The big centre half is playing him onside.”
Neil Warnock told the linesman to ‘get a grip’ and asked if the sun was in his eye, causing many more laughs from the crowd.
Boro lineup for the second half: James, Spence, Gitau, Peltier, Wood, Marshall, M.Djiksteel, Wing, Sivi, Willis, Gibson, Kavanagh, Akpom
On the 49th minute, Joe Kavanagh, son of Graham, got onto an effort that crashed off the underside of the bar and the ref blew for a free kick.
On the 64th minute, it should have been another goal for Middlesbrough, Chuba Akpom broke free from the half way line and ran at the defence. He jinked onto his right foot, found some space but bent his effort just wide.
After Kavanagh had another effort on goal, this time on the edge of the box, that flew over the bar, Djed Spence provided a long busting run down the right hand side and prodded the ball passed the keeper. 2-0 finally by the 73rd minute.
Two minutes left of the second half, Jeremy Sivi made it three. He met a floating cross at the back post and volley with the outside of his foot passed the keeper.
