A video goes viral of a Bradford City fan shouting “tw*t him Patto” during an incident which played out at Accrington on Saturday.

Devon Matthews can be seen on the ground covering himself around the ball, frustrating Bradford players who are trying to retrieve it.

They try to pull him up, the Accrington player makes it as dramatic as possible, holding onto his head seeming hurt, while the referee watches on.

The game itself played out to a 0-0 draw, with Stanley controlling the first half but only managed one shot on target after 39 minutes from captain Seamus Conneely, which was easily saved by Bradford’s goalkeeper Sam Walker.

Bradford’s manager Graham Alexander made four substitutions after 58 minutes to boost their attack. The substitutes quickly won several corners, with Alex Pattison, a scorer in a previous game against Stanley, nearly scoring twice.

Despite a tense atmosphere, the match ended in a draw, with Bradford failing to register a single shot on target.

The result leaves Bradford 2nd in League Two with 70 points from 39 games, 1 point behind leaders Walsall, while Accrington are 20th with 42 points and 9 points above the drop zone.

Bradford boss Graham Alexander said: “It is a fair point over the whole game, to be honest, I do not think either team did enough to win the game outright.

“I know we did not reach the heights of last week but that would have been difficult anyway, but I do not think we created enough today.

“The subs that came on made impact in the tempo of the game, but we just could not get the breakthrough.

On the fans, he added: “We knew about the numbers earlier in the week, and I think it will be like that from now until the end of the season.

“We saw the reaction from the supporters to the players at the end of the game, they know that it is not always going to be perfect.

“So, we really thank them for their support today and I am sure they will back us again on Tuesday night.”
