With the 2020/21 campaign reaching a crescendo in Europe’s top divisions, attention will turns to the upcoming transfer window. Check out the transfer talk for the Football League…

– Nottingham Forest striker Lyle Taylor is attracting the interest of Blackburn and Barnsley. He only joined Forest last summer from Charlton. (Various)

– Sunderland want to sign Wolves defender Dion Sanderson on a permanent deal after the 21-year-old Englishman impressed on loan last season. (Mail)

– Newcastle United have joined Manchester United in the chase for Grimsby Town man Ben Grist this summer transfer window but Leicester City remain the favourites to bring him in, Football League World has been told exclusively.

– Rangers are in the hunt for John Lundstram on a free transfer after his release from Sheffield United. (The Scottish Sun)

– Coventry City are reportedly among a clutch of clubs interested in signing midfielder Alex Gilliead this summer. Ipswich and Sunderland are also believed to be keen also. Huddersfield speculation quashed.

– Simon Weaver has confirmed that one of Harrogate Town’s League Two rivals have made contact to enquire about to the availability of one of his defenders. An unnamed club, who are based in the north of England, were interested in signing Ryan Fallowfield, though Weaver is adamant that the 25-year-old right-back is not a player who he wants to lose.

– Harrogate’s Simon Weaver also admitted to the Harrogate Advertiser that he doesn’t expect Rangers loanee Josh McPake to play for the club again after completing his temporary spell with the Sulphurites. QPR and Bristol City also interested.

– According to Football Insider, Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly interested in signing 26-year-old St Johnstone defender Scott Tanser who has yet to agree to a new deal with the Scottish side despite the fact that his current contract expires later this month. Doncaster and Shrewsbury also keen.

– Besiktas have made a move for Brentford striker Halil Dervisoglu according to Fanatik. Per the source, the Super Lig champions are keen on signing the Turkey international this summer on a loan move.

– Ipswich Town are among a number of clubs chasing Rotherham centre-half Clark Robertson, it has been reported. According to the Independent and other websites, Town, Polish side Slask Wroclaw and Israeli club Hapoel Jerusalem are among the clubs interested in Robertson, 27. Portsmouth lead the chase.

– West Brom are now leading the race to sign Peterborough United’s prolific forward Jonson Clarke-Harris this summer as they aim to bolster their firepower, according to Bristol Live. Cardiff, Swansea, Sheffield United and Rangers also interested.

– Middlesbrough were hopeful of turning Yannick Bolasie’s loan deal into a permanent one this summer. Boro are looking to bolster their options at the attacking end of the pitch and given Bolasie is out of contract at parent club Everton this month, he will be allowed to leave Goodison Park.

– James Garner’s impressive half-season with Nottingham Forest has seen the midfielder become the subject of many enquiries. He endured a difficult first half of the season at Watford but recovered in stellar fashion after joining Chris Hughton’s side as they comfortably beat relegation. – According to a report by reliable club insider ExWHUemployee, West Ham have looked into promising Swansea City defender Ben Cabango as interest emerges in the player.

– Express & Star journalist Luke Hatfield has mooted a potential loan move to West Brom for Aston Villa striker Keinan Davis. The 23 year old scored two goals in 18 appearances across all competitions for Aston Villa this season with Dean Smith handing him just three starts.

– Rhys Norrington-Davies rejected an offer to spend next season on loan at Beerschot, The Star understands, preferring to stay at Bramall Lane and fight for a place in Sheffield United’s starting eleven instead.

– Republic of Ireland midfielder Conor Hourihane admits he’ll “probably” be moving clubs this summer. The 30-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Swansea, helping the Welsh club reach the Championship Playoff final. Will return to Aston Villa for pre-season training later this summer.

– According to Wales Online, Swansea look set to be Newcastle United to the signing of Wigan Athletic star Kyle Joseph. They report that the highly-rated striker is now in ‘advanced talks’ with the Swans and set to sign at the Liberty Stadium on a free transfer this summer.

– Gustavo Hamer is wanted by relegated Premier League side West Bromwich Albion, per The Athletic.

– Watford made a bid for Palmeiras midfielder Danilo, the Brazilian media reports. The claims first came from outlet UOL, who said the Hornets submitted an offer of €12m for the player.

– Birmingham are one of a number of Championship and League One clubs that are eyeing a move for Queens Park Rangers winger Albert Adomah this summer. Derby County, Bristol City, Luton and Ipswich Town are all said to be interested in the attacker.

– Sol Bamba Joe Bennett, Junior Hoilett and Joe Day will leave Cardiff City this summer alongside former Sunderland loanee Jonny Williams. (Various)

– Rotherham striker Michael Smith is being eyed by Bristol City. Smith is already on Middlesbrough’s wanted list. (Bristol Post)

– Barnsley have decided against turning striker Daryl Dike’s loan from Orlando into a permanent move. (Barnsley Chronicle)

– Oxford United are interested in Brighton and Hove Albion defender Alex Cochrane, as per BBC Oxford Sport on Twitter. The U’s consider potential replacements for left back Josh Ruffels with 27 year old out of contract and still to sign new deal, Robbo still keen for this to happen. Eastleigh’s Joe Tomlinson among those believed to be on Oxford’s radar too.

– Peterborough United have targeted eight new players for their 2021-22 Championship campaign. MacAnthony insists there will be no attacking players signed on loan and that Posh are looking to recruit a specialist coach, presumably to improve the club’s set-piece routines.

– Phil Jagielka, John Lundstrum, Simon Moore and Jack Rodwell have been released by Sheffield United as they start planning for life in the Championship. (Official website)

– Portsmouth, Burton Albion and Crewe Alexandra are chasing Australian midfielder Brandon Wilson, Football Insider understands. The Australia U23 international came through Burnley’s academy and holds an English passport.

– Millwall are looking to strengthen their centre-back options this summer amid their rumoured interest in Portsmouth’s Jack Whatmough.

– Derby County are in talks with out of contract duo Martyn Waghorn and Andre Wisdom over extending their deals, according to DerbyshireLive.

– Sunderland, Portsmouth and Ipswich Town target Guy Melamed – who has been likened to Dennis Bergkamp – will leave Scottish club St Johnstone at the end of his contract and will be available on a free this summer. (Sunderland Echo)

– Josh Griffiths is the latest in a long list of players to be linked with Sheffield Wednesday. The young West Brom goalkeeper is thought to be attracting the interest of a number of clubs in the lower leagues, including the Owls and Cheltenham Town. 19-year-old Griffiths starred during a season long-loan spell at Whaddon Road, playing a pivotal role in their promotion to League One.

– Queens Park Rangers have made securing the services of Fulham midfielder Stefan Johansen on a permanent basis one of their highest summer transfer priorities.

– Newcastle United have joined Manchester United in the chase for Grimsby Town man Ben Grist this summer transfer window but Leicester City remain the favourites to bring him in, Football League World has been told exclusively.
