• Leeds United are willing to make a late move for Norwich midfielder Todd Cantwell, according to a report, with Newcastle, Manchester United, Tottenham and Liverpool among those said to be interested.

• AC Milan and Roma have joined the list of clubs who want to sign Max Aarons from Norwich City.

• Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Reading have passed up the opportunity to sign talented Lincoln youngster Jordan Adebayo-Smith after a four week trial with the club.

• Celtic have received a huge boost in the hunt for Charlton Athletic full back Alfie Doughty after the Addicks confirmed the signing of Norwich’s Akin Famewo. The Scottish giants will try one more try for the Luton linked player.

• Phillip Cocu is hoping to sign a striker before Derby County’s next game. They lost 4-0 to Blackburn on Saturday, meaning the Rams are without a point from their three Championship matches and they have scored just one goal while conceding eight.

• Reading are ‘running the rule’ over the former Manchester United defender Joseph Nkwonta after Tottenham Hotspur rejected the chance to sign him, according to All Nigeria Soccer.

• Israeli defender Omri Luzon claims to be close to signing for Reading. The centre-back says he will be joining the club’s U23s squad before he hopes to make the breakthrough into the first-team set-up.

• Leeds United, Aston Villa, West Brom and Wolves are amongst the Premier League sides to have shown an interest in Teemu Pukki this summer, but PA (via Express and Star) reports that Norwich City are set to keep the striker. Expects a battle to keep him in January.

• Sheff Wed. Up to 25 a week with offer to pay some of Zohore’s wages on a loan. West Brom still want more.

• Burnley. Keen to sign Steve Cook from Bournemouth. Cost about 8. Selling Tarkowksi would give them funds. Dawson at Watford and Dann at Palace also on list.

• Preston North End midfielder and reported Rangers target Daniel Johnson was left out of the Deepdale side’s squad as they fell to a 1-0 defeat to Stoke City.

• Swansea City manager Steve Cooper has urged the club to make a move for a new striker before the end of the transfer window as he targets a promotion push.

• Cardiff City boss Neil Harris has confirmed that Callum Paterson is close to completing a move to Sheffield Wednesday.

• ExWHUemployee has claimed that West Ham’s interest in signing Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland is dead for the moment, suggesting that David Moyes has no need to sign a new goalkeeper as things stand.

• Two more arrivals are expected at Gillingham next week as manager Steve Evans looks to complete his summer rebuild. Evans hopes to bolster his ranks with a defensive addition while talks are also ongoing with a Premier League side over adding another left-sided player to the squad.

• Grant McCann remains hopeful that Hull City will add another signing to their squad before next weekend’s home clash with Plymouth Argyle. Premier League midfielder is close to moving, medical done, details agreed, will be season-long loan. He did confirm it was not Leeds’s Robbie Gotts nor would it be Liverpool youngster Herbie Kane.

• Yoan Zouma’s hopes of a return to Bolton are over, after Head Coach Ian Evatt opted not to offer the defender a new contract following a trial period at the club.

• Brentford boss Thomas Frank has for an end to Said Benrahma’s transfer uncertainty. The likes of West Ham and Crystal Palace remain keen on the Algerian winger, but are yet to make a concrete offer which matches Brentford’s asking price.

• Northampton. Keen on centre half Inniss at Palace.

• West Brom. Diallo at Metz the latest speedy forward they want on loan. Big rental fee but comes off price if they buy. Joins a queue with Grant at Huddersfield and Niang at Rennes.
