With the 2020/21 campaign reaching a crescendo in Europe’s top divisions, attention will turns to the upcoming transfer window. Check out the transfer talk for the Football League…

– Newcastle United midfielder Matt Ritchie has been linked with a move to his former club Bournemouth, with reports suggesting he’s keen to go back due to family reasons. He won the Championship with the Cherries back in 2015. (Mirror)

– Norwich are set to beat off late competition from Leeds to complete the £5million signing of Angus Gunn from Southampton next week.

– Huddersfield Town midfielder Pipa has been linked with a move to Portuguese champions Sporting CP. He was previously on the books at Espanyol, and has been capped six times at U21 level for Spain. (Football League World)

– Barnsley could be set to pull off bargain signing, with reports claiming the club are in talks with free agent ace Emiliano Marcondes, who has recently left Brentford. He played his part in the Bees’ promotion to the top tier last season. (The 72)

– Millwall have reportedly rejected a bid from fellow Championship side Swansea City for striker Abdul Abdulmalik, amid interest from Arsenal and Rangers also.

– Scunthorpe United are close to signing Alex Kenyon after his departure from Morecambe, as per BBC Humberside Sport on Twitter.

– Sunderland, Plymouth Argyle and Portsmouth target Clark Robertson is ‘more likely’ to stay in England this summer, as per a report by the Daily Record.

– Derby County are expected to re-sign Teden Mengi on a season-long loan from Manchester United this summer.

– Barnsley winger Luke Thomas looks highly likely to join Bristol Rovers on loan ahead of the 2021/22 campaign. The 22-year-old has at least three League One teams interested in taking him, as well as French second division club AS Nancy, who are managed by ex-Tykes boss Daniel Stendel.

– Luton Town defender Gabriel Osho has been tipped to move on this summer, with a number of clubs said to be interested following suggestions the signing of Reece Burke could see the ex-Reading starlet continue to struggle to break into the team. (The 72)

– Both Birmingham City and Fulham have been linked with Sheffield Wednesday’s Josh Windass. The 27 year old, is attracting a lot of interest going into the summer. Is contracted to the Owls beyond this month but Sheffield Star have reported that Birmingham City have ‘enquired’ about the striker, with Fulham also interested.

– Sheffield United accepted a Hull City bid for Regan Slater at the start of the summer, as per a report by Hull Live.

– West Brom have expressed an interest in Blackpool striker Jerry Yates ahead of a potential summer move. Blackburn Rovers, Bristol City and Nottingham Forest are also keen on the 24-year-old, with Blackpool demanding £5million from suitors.

– Cardiff City are in advanced talks to sign Crewe Alexandra midfielder Ryan Wintle, Football Insider understands. Mick McCarthy’s side have made a breakthrough in negotiations as they work to lure the in-demand 24-year-old.

– Callum Minkley has reportedly turned down a new contract with Derby County ahead of the 2021/22 season, according to The Athletic.

– Millwall and Nottingham Forest both look set to miss out on Sunderland’s star striker Charlie Wyke, with reports suggesting he’s closing in on a move to Celtic. He 30 goals for the Black Cats last season. (The Sun)

– Peterborough United’s hopes of signing St Mirren ace Jamie McGrath look to have been boosted, with reports north of the border suggesting Aberdeen have been unable to agree a fee for the player. He recently earned his first cap for the Republic of Ireland. (Daily Record)

– Cardiff City and Fulham are two more clubs that have entered the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Cameron Carter-Vickers this summer, according to SBI Soccer, via Wales Online. Newcastle and New York Red Bulls are also looking at him.

– According to Express & Star journalist Joseph Masi, clubs from the Premier League and Bundesliga are readying bids to sign West Brom star Matheus Pereira. The report states that initial murmurs in the media surrounding a £15million valuation have been mooted but the club are looking for a ‘significantly’ higher fee if they are to part ways with the Brazilian. Norwich City, Leeds United and Leicester City are interested.

– Birmingham City are working behind the scenes to tie down Alen Halilovic to a new deal, as his short-term contract at the club draws to a close. The 24-year-old has previously been on the books for top sides such as Barcelona and AC Milan. (Birmingham Mail)

– Cardiff City and Swansea City target Matty James is reportedly on the verge of signing for Bristol City. The midfielder, whose contract at Leicester City expires this month, was said to be a target for the Bluebirds and the Swans in this transfer window. However, former Foxes boss Nigel Pearson appears to have won the race to his signature, with Bristol Live reporter Gregor MacGregor stating that a deal to bring James to Ashton Gate is all but completed. He also claims that Wales international Andy King is also nearing a move to Severnside rivals the Robins.

– Leeds United are interested in a potential move for striker Andre Ayew this summer. Ayew enjoyed another impressive campaign for Swansea last season, scoring 17 goals in 46 league appearances for the Welsh club. (Wales Online)

– A host of Sky Bet League Two clubs are looking at Millwall striker Isaac Olaofe this summer and are interested in sealing a loan move for the player.

– Promising Stoke City defender Connor Taylor has emerged as a defensive option for Bristol Rovers this summer with the 19-year-old available on a season-long loan.

– Burnley still haven’t given up in their attempts to sign Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall, according sources close to the club. The Clarets are keen to sign the £12m-rated ace, along with Stoke City defender Nathan Collins (Nottingham Post)

– Cardiff City are interested in signing Solihull Moors striker Kyle Hudlin, according to journalist Alan Nixon. Sheffield Wednesday, Barnsley and Huddersfield Town are also interested.

– Watford are holding talks with Rangers about potentially signing Glen Kamara, but the Finland international is not the Hornets’ main focus.

– Portsmouth striker Ellis Harrison is closing in on a move to Oxford United, a report from The News has claimed.

– Bolton Wanderers’ Ali Crawford has been named as someone who could leave Ian Evatt’s side this summer by the Manchester Evening News.

– Harrogate. Deals for two players are expected to be concluded early next week, with talks currently ongoing with a number of other targets. Manager Simon Weaver released 8 members of his first-team squad at the end of last season, with a further five loanees returning to their parent clubs, leaving the Sulphurites with 17 senior professionals on their books.

– Swindon Town and Exeter City are among a number of sides eyeing up Torquay United attacker Ben Whitfield, as per Football Insider. He is set for a playoff final against Hartlepool United at the weekend.

– Hull City are planning on welcoming at least six new arrivals before the start of the Championship season, though boss Grant McCann will have to wheel and deal in what will be a challenging transfer market. Allam says providing funds to buy players will be tough, as the club deals with the ongoing impact of the coronavirus pandemic, but did express his hope that the likes of Keane Lewis-Potter and Jacob Greaves would remain at the KCOM Stadium beyond the summer window.

– Karl Robinson says Oxford United need a mixture of smart and marquee signings in order to push for promotion next season. He is confident he can bring in ‘three or four’ new faces ahead of the start of the League One season on August 7, plus four more before the transfer window closes on August 31.

– Charlton Athletic are hoping for a few more signings in the next week or two, as per a report by London News Online. The Addicks’ director of football Steve Gallen says there are working hard to bring in more players.

– Walsall are in talks to sign FC Halifax Town’s Jack Earing, as per a report by the Express and Star. The likes of Swindon Town, Barrow, Cambridge United and Oldham Athletic have been linked with him over recent times, as reported by Football Insider.

– Sunderland are plotting a move for Aberdeen youngster Ethan Ross, who is set to become a free agent. That’s according to Football Insider. They states the midfielder has been offered a new contract by the Scottish Premiership outfit. However, Blackburn Rovers are also reportedly interested in a deal for the Scotland youth international.

– Bolton Wanderers are close to clinching a deal for Barrow goalkeeper Joel Dixon. That’s according to the Bolton News. The 27-year-old is out of contract this summer and has persistently been talked about as a Bolton target in the last few weeks. Reports state that a deal is now ‘understood to be close.’

– Sutton United are set to beat Leyton Orient and Cambridge United to the signing of Bromley’s Joe Kizzi, Football League World has claimed.

– Millwall have reportedly rejected a bid from fellow Championship side Swansea City for striker Abdul Abdulmalik, amid interest from Arsenal and Rangers also.

– Sheffield United could be forced to accept Arsenal’s proposed deal for Norwegian midfielder Sander Berge. The 23-year-old has said he hopes to play Champions League football next season. (Sheffield Star)

– Swansea City’s interest in OH Leuven star Thomas Henry is ‘becoming more concrete’, according to today’s edition of Het Nieuwsblad. The striker’s been in fine form for the Belgian club last season, scoring 21 goals and registering six assists in 31 league matches.

– Arsenal are interested in Sheffield United ‘keeper Aaron Ramsdale, who is one of a number of keepers Arsenal are looking at.They also remain interested in Brighton’s Mat Ryan.

– Middlesbrough are among several Championship clubs keen on Wycombe striker Uche Ikpeazu. Millwall, Derby and Nottingham Forest also have the 26-year-old old on their summer transfer target lists. He scored six times and setup four more in 31 Championship appearances last season, as Wycombe were relegated.

– Derby remain in talks over a new contract with forward Jack Marriott, the club revealed as they announced their retained list on Monday. The 26-year-old spent much of last season on loan at relegation rivals Sheffield Wednesday and his Rams future remains unclear. Hull City are interested.

– Rotherham United boss Paul Warne believes his former player and Cardiff City striker Kieffer Moore will be heading to the Premier League this summer, in an interview with Yorkshire Today.

– Sheffield United will hold talks with Kean Bryan over his future at the club, as per a report by the Sheffield Star. He has been linked with Swansea City and Burnley recently, as reported by Football Insider, other reports say Watford were also interested.

– Jon Dadi Bodvarsson could exit Millwall this summer with boss Gary Rowett saying the club are “open-minded” about the forward’s future.

– Shrewsbury Town have set their sights on signing Stoke City striker Sam Vokes this summer, Football Insider can reveal. The Wales striker has been given the green light by the Championship club to leave with a year left on his contract.

– Norwich City and Southampton are said to be chasing Blackburn Rovers sensation Adam Armstrong, who could be available for just £8m. He scored an impressive 28 goals in 40 Championship outings last season, and is also on West Ham’s radar. (Daily Mail)

– Sheffield Wednesday are stepping up their efforts to bolster their depleted squad, and are rumoured to be keen on Swindon Town defender Akin Odimayo. The 21-year-old began his career at Reading, and has also been linked with Preston and Derby. (Football League World)

– Blackpool boss Neil Critchley has hinted that he will resist the temptation to splash the cash this summer – amid links of a permanent move for Sunderland’s Elliot Embleton.

– Burton Albion look to be closing in on a move for left-back Frazer Blake-Tracy, following his release from Peterborough United. He made nine league appearances in the Posh’s promotion-winning campaign last season. (The Sun)

– Cardiff City look to be closing in on a move for Crewe midfielder Ryan Wintle, as Mick McCarthy looks to continue building his side. He’s set to be available on a free transfer, with his contract approaching its expiry. (Wales Online)

– Recently released Rangers keeper Brian Kinnear is close to signing for Championship Birmingham City, according to a report.

– Blackpool remain likely to sign Oliver Casey from Leeds United despite a lack of developments over the course of the last week.

– Turkish Super Lig side Kayserispor are interested in a move for Stoke City midfielder Peter Etebo, a report from Turkish outlet Fotospor has claimed.

– QPR are looking to complete a deal to sign left-back George Cox from Fortuna Sittard. Moses Odubajo will be signed as Kane’s replacement if he proves his fitness during a pre-season trial.

– Tottenham and Southampton have joined Leeds in the race to sign Birmingham City attacker Amari Miller, a report from Birmingham Live has revealed.

– Blackburn Rovers are monitoring Liverpool centre-midfielder Leighton Clarkson, according to a report from Lancashire Live.
