• Former Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo is close to joining Middlesbrough on a free transfer. The Frenchman is a free agent after running down his contract at Toulouse. The 27-year-old visited the club’s Rockliffe training ground last week

• Burnley are considering a move for Bournemouth defender Adam Smith.
• Plymouth Argyle are trying to trash out a deal with Peterborough United for winger George Cooper, according to reports. The 23-year-old was on loan at Home Park last season and helped the club secure promotion to League One in Ryan Lowe’s first campaign in charge of the Pilgrims.
• Marc Guehi is set to re-join Swansea on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea.

• Luton Town look to be closing in on signing Aston Villa defender James Bree on a permanent deal, with reports suggesting the Hatters have had a “seven-figure bid” accepted for the 22-year-old. (Birmingham Mail)
• Millwall boss Gary Rowett has revealed he won’t be going in “all guns blazing” into the transfer market, and signalled his intent to take the time necessary to secure “good deals” for the club. (London News Online)
