• Huddersfield are looking to beat Sheffield Wednesday to a loan deal for Man Utd youngster James Garner. The Terriers are said to have opened discussions with the Red Devils with view to a temporary switch. (Football Insider)
• Bristol City and Swansea City are among a number of second tier sides chasing Fulham’s Steven Sessegnon. The 20-year-old could be allowed to leave on loan this season to gain more first team experience. (Bristol Post)
• Millwall and Preston North End are said to have joined Middlesbrough in the race to sign ex-Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo. The Frenchman is on the look-out for a new club, after leaving Toulouse last month. (Team Talk)
• Ex-Swansea winger Mason Jones-Thomas has featured on trial for Portsmouth in a friendly against AFC Totton. (The News)
• Millwall are reportedly interested in signing Derby County defender Scott Malone. The Lions are weighing up a loan deal to bring the 29-year-old back for a second spell with the club, according to the South London Press.
• DerbyshireLive have reported that Derby County have not shown interest in AS Monaco defender Jonathan Panzo. Valued at £2.4m by Transfermarkt, the 19-year-old has become a much-wanted with Coventry also keen.
• Peterborough United midfielder George Cooper remains a transfer target of League One rivals Plymouth Argyle, but only if they can take him back to Home Park on loan.
• West Bromwich Albion striker Callum Morton is attracting the interest from a host of EFL, including Lincoln City. (The Sun)
• Port Vale manager John Askey has indicated to the Sentinel newspaper that trialist Dino Visser will be signed up for the forthcoming season.
• Stuart McCall insists Bradford City will not be pressured into making signings as he continues to play the waiting game. • Two defenders are on trial at Exeter City as the sale of Ben Chrisene to Aston Villa frees up budget. Lewis Page and Bradley Garmston each played for 45 minutes in the Tiverton Town friendly.
• Luton boss Nathan Jones has confirmed he is looking to bolster his squad ahead of their Carabao Cup first round clash against Norwich a week on Saturday. He said: “…we need to step it up and get one or two additions, which we’re working very hard to get, so hopefully we can do that.”
