Three Colchester fans ejected and trouble with AFC Wimbledon stewards as footage emerges following the League Two opening weekend.
Colchester United FC Police (@CUFCPolice) tweeted: “Disappointing to see 3 ejections today and a report of Racial abuse.
“This along with some issues with the stewarding will all be followed up by myself and colleagues from Wimbledon.”
The majority of Colchester fans behaved and even gave us some superb limbs before going on to watch their side lost 4-2 at Plough Lane.

The game itself saw AFC Wimbledon turn round a calamitous first 10 minutes where they were two goals behind, to go on and score four goals soon after.
Not even 60 second on the clock – and a brilliant ball in from Jack Payne was powered in at the back post by Ben Goodliffe to put the U’s ahead.
Just after that, there were big shouts for handball from Ihionvien and the travelling fans, but only a corner was given by the officials.
10 minutes in and a Payne delivery and Goodliffe header in to the top corner put Colchester two up.
It should have been 3-0 by the 12th minute, Brad getting around his marker, before Goodman was able to pounce on the deflected cross.
But then Wimbledon hit back, Furlong getting the cross in, coming to Bugiel who brought it down and fired towards goal with the ball deflecting off Ball and in.
Wimbledon were level on 30 minutes, and what a strike from Jake Reeves who curled home a beauty from the edge of the area.
The hosts ended the first half by taking the lead, Stevens stepped up from the spot to fire home his first Dons goal after John Kymani-Gordon handled.
Bugiel added Wimbledon’s fourth goal eight minutes after the restart, moments after Alistair Smith hit the bar.

Wimbledon boss Johnnie Jackson said, per London News Online: “I’ll have a heart attack if I have to do that every Saturday.
“It was a great game of football and a really good advert for the league.
“It was two teams who wanted to attack and put each other under pressure.
“Loads of goals, which is good for the paying public, but not so good for a coach or manager.
“I was wondering [after nine minutes]: ‘What’s going on lads? How are we going to pull ourselves together?’
“Colchester made a great start. They were full of energy and on the front foot. They put us under pressure with forward balls and runs.
“That was it. It wasn’t a case of playing through us. Their start was brilliant, but from our point of view, we didn’t defend those situations well enough.
“We know what a threat Goodliffe is but we have to do better.
“For the boys to bounce back from, let’s face it, a nightmare start to the season, 2-0 down after 10 minutes couldn’t get any worse.
“To turn it round so quickly – fair play.”

Here’s what Twitter users had to say on three Colchester fans ejected and trouble with Wimbledon stewards as footage emerges…
@Marcustricky: Come on lads, what you doing 🤦♂️🤷🏻♂️#colu
@FreddySharkkk: Disgusting thugs those fans
@GCtiger07: For our fanbase size we do seem to have a disproportionate number of ‘idiots’ at local ish away games. Not taking any life learnings from this week 🤦♂️
@Wegotone2: No surprise was full of part time fans on a day out
@Ry_Lines: Stewards were antagonising the lads in front of me, saying they’d see them outside looking for a reaction. Embarrassing behaviour. Number 58 the main tosser
@prayfortiddles: Was very underwhelmed by the behaviour of some of those behind the goal.
@Wrightie28: The stewards are too aggressive at Wimbledon and although we clearly have some idiots, they clearly are happy to use unnecessary force. Same every season
@dabdbdab: It’s always the same ones though don’t know how they aren’t banned. The muppet with the slick back mop needs to sort himself out
@A1fie_Ho11and: Typical Colchester scum
@RDColU: The stewards at Wimbledon are always terrible, however it is always the same idiots at any game. The kids at the back started singing about Tommy Robinson straight after it all kicked off.
@Zander_Hamilton: Really wish you’d clamp down on these repeat offenders.
@Jack_jones067: Wimbledon stewards for you
@patchy81: Probably did nothing wrong. Stewards up are proper wankers
@Clachan1GK: Wimbledon Stewards so it’s hardly surprisings
@northstandsteve: Worst stewards in the country
@FerryLad: Wimbledon stewards are clowns 🤡. Robostewards in action.
@SteveWatso71980: I went there last year with the gills, the stewards are overly aggressive and tbh quite nasty, pulled a youngster out as if he’d shot someone, he’d done nothing wrong but they still wouldn’t listen!
@undercovergreeb: wimbledon have some of the buggiest wankers as stewards, that being said ColU are notorious for also being massive twats
@Jackcufc_: @AFCWimbledon sort your stewards out 👍🏼 #colu
