Set a date for the diaries as the historic broadcast has been in reportedly been listed for a Saturday night primetime slot at 7.45pm on the 20th of June, subject to final ratification.

The BBC will be showing four matches as part of the top-flight’s revised broadcast deal, which will see every one of the remaining 92 games this season shown live across BBC, Sky Sports, BT Sport and Amazon Prime.

Telegraph Sport revealed that the first Premier League fixture back following the coronavirus crisis is likely to be Aston Villa v Sheffield United on June 17.

The game looks likely to 6pm and will be broadcast by Sky Sports, who are rumoured to be showing Manchester City v Arsenal at 8pm.

Bournemouth v Palace could potentially be the most watched Premier League game ever on UK television, breaking the record of 4.04 million viewers who tuned in to watch the Manchester derby on Sky Sports back in April 2012.

It has also been announced on Wednesday that Amazon Prime will make its four Premier League games free-to-air when the season restarts.

Alex Green, managing director of Prime Video Sport Europe, said: “Like the rest of the country, we are excited to see the Premier League return to action.

“We will be making all four of Amazon Prime Video’s additional fixtures in the 2019-20 season available free of charge; fans will not need a Prime membership to view the games on Prime Video.”
