Swindon Town fans make their feelings known, taking to vent anger towards their own players after a 2-1 defeat to Port Vale on Saturday.
The Valiants moved into the League Two playoff places with their third victory in four matches, thanks to goals from George Byers and Brandon Cover. They climb up to 5th, and extend their unbeaten run across all competitions to five games.
For Swindon however, it’s their fourth defeat of the season, with their only goal coming from a late free-kick by captain Will Wright. They stay in 21st, just three points clear of the drop zone.

Byers broke the deadlock by heading the ball home from a corner on 61 minutes. Cover winning the ball back and dinking the ball over the keeper made it 2-0 Vale on 85 minutes. Wright got a consolation goal for Swindon.

Swindon boss Mark Kennedy post-match, saying per Swindon Advertiser: “In terms of our football performance, I thought that we were below par today.
“In terms of the game it was a really ugly and physical game, we were aware of that and we knew it would be coming into the game but there is really not a lot we can do about that because we are missing a lot of height, physicality, and power, so it is what it is.
“We knew today could have been a brutal day and I thought that it was and Port Vale did everything to us that they set out to do.
“I thought we dealt with it well on the whole and rode our luck a couple of times undoubtedly, there were a couple of balls in the first half where I was waiting for the net to bulge.
“Every set piece and anything in the build up where the ball was out wide came into our box, set pieces, corners, free kicks, their goalie was taking free kicks on the halfway line.
“It was everything we thought it would be and my biggest disappointment is if I look at the goal, it was similar to last week where it wasn’t the delivery or we got dominated by a six-foot-sour player.
“The lad who scored wasn’t picked up and our front space man didn’t do the job that he was asked to do, which is mindbogglingly frustrating.”
“Did I think we would suffer for most of the game? I hope we wouldn’t as I thought with our technical ability we could try and take that away from them.
“The game looked like how I thought it would but on the ball we weren’t at our best.
“My disappointment was that I didn’t feel we were brave enough on the ball and that did disappointment.
“My one real gripe was we weren’t brave enough, we have to play, we had an overload in build-up and we have to play.
“We had three at the back and they had two, we know where the spare man is and we didn’t play enough when we should have done.”
Port Vale boss Darren Moore: “I thought it was a good performance. Another step in the right direction in terms of the performance that we want to see at Vale Park.
“I don’t think anybody can have any complaints with the three points today. I thought it was a dominant display.
“I probably thought from their point of view they had two moments in the game – they hit the post and then of course [there was] an exceptional free-kick, which we know the boy’s got it in his locker.
“But I thought, on the balance of play, we deserved the three points today and it’s credit to the boys in terms of the hard work they’ve put in over the week that we’ve had.
“We felt today that we wanted to go up front with almost like three number nines and put Swindon on the back foot.
“We know Swindon are a possession-based team, we know they like to dominate the ball.
“But we thought, in our own backyard, we forced the initiative and forced them into errors.”
🗣️ Darren Moore: says the win was “Three well-deserved points.”

Twitter users gave their reaction after seeing Swindon fans vent anger towards their own players after a 2-1 defeat to Port Vale…
@Sheppard2Nathan: My word – grown men? Embarrassing
@hall_mj: Actual grown men 😂
@pieman80: Seen enough now, Kennedy out
@CallumSt03: Surely he’s sacked now
@NatJaneM: Proud to be in this video clapping our players off. Don’t get me wrong, I’m also disappointed and frustrated with that performance (and the general state of the club). But treating our players hatefully isn’t constructive or acceptable, in my opinion.
@NatJaneM: It’s not for want of effort that we’re seeing poor results, and if player quality isn’t good enough despite that, then responsibility surely lies with management/recruitment rather than the players themselves. In any case, anger may be justified but needs to be directed at the right people and in the right ways. #STFC
@dibby1010: I thought there were lots of positive signs today. Hate some of our so-called support
@JPlumby_: The music really adds to this 😂
@rj_clements: I mean its embarrassing but.. we’re on the verge of loosing our position in the football league, has never happened ever. We’ve a manager calling us deluded thinking we can win at vale, delision was never about until morfuni came in sold a dream, created a nightmare. #stfc
@Molloy_00: I’m genuine in saying this. L O L.
@Andrewstowe9: Worst footballing side this season! I thought Salford were poor but Swindon were terrible
@Flowergirl0404: I didn’t expect anything else sadly because the owner has taken any hope I’ve had away
@andyrichardson_: Just sell Clem. It’s not working is it.. come on
@DrewAdam_: “Competitive budget” 😂 Fair play to those fans who are still turning up and spending their hard earned money. We will be down by Christmas. How do you like that “data”.
@mtholmes84: Absolutely no quality at either end of the pitch. This is a team built on an absolutely bare minimum budget and looks like a team getting relegated or worst. Kennedy is just a clueless yes man! Anyone on here still defending Morfuni & the crooks then?! Morfuni Out! #stfc
@danquince2: Sack Kennedy. And sell the fucking club.
@joteddyuk: Fuck off Morfuni and take all your mates including the manager with you. Absolutely disgraceful what you’re doing to this club
@PVFClh2142: Embarrassing club, tryed to get tickets in our home end and didnt even manage to sell out your proportion we gave u. Tiny club. WE SAW YOU CRYING ON THE TELLY 🎵. UTV ⚫️⚪️
