Supporters left confused after upcoming League One match claims to be abandoned

Supporters of League One side Luton Town have been left confused this morning after a technical issue revealed that their side’s match against Charlton Athletic was abandoned.

Hatters and Addicks fans took to social media after they received a notification from an app, which claimed that the game wasn’t going to go ahead.

The statement read: The Hatters would like to confirm that this Saturday’s game against Charlton Athletic is still going ahead, after a notification from the club app has said that it has been abandoned. As well as this, a number of media outlets are showing the game as abandoned, however this is not correct. We are looking into what we believe is a technical issue and hope to have it resolved as soon as possible.

Shortly after, the club gave a further update on Twitter: This issue has now been corrected by Opta who generate the fixture information. We are definitely, 100% still playing Charlton on Saturday!

Take a look at the notification fans were getting as well as claims that BBC Sport and Sky Sports also had the match down as postponed – check out those tweets on the next page.
