You really had to feel for Macclesfield fans last night after they watched their side get hammered 8-0 against West Ham United, which was then followed by getting mocked Bayer Leverkusen.
However it was the Silkmen supporters who had the last laugh, as the German side ended up being trolled on Twitter.
It all started when a user replied with the West Ham scoreline (at the time 7-0) to a tweet by Bundesliga official account on another scoreline that was at 7-0 at the same time…
Chill we’ve the same in england. West ham 7-0

Bundesliga retweeted the user’s reply, which caught the attention on Bayer Leverkusen, who then said…
Wait what‘s a Macclesfield?
— Bayer 04 Leverkusen (@bayer04_en) September 26, 2018
Macclesfield Town saw it and said…
Excuse me… https://t.co/syi05riQmb

Nothing more was said by the League Two club but their fans continued it, might want to get some popcorn for this one…
What’s a Bayer 04?
— Tom Walker (@TomATFC_) September 26, 2018
The German side thought they had outsmarted the fan…
Well Bayer is a company that makes Aspirin, you’ve probably heard of them, that’s our parent company. 04 refers to the year of our founding, 1904. Pretty simple stuff from our side.

Another fan simply wrote back with…
Macclesfield are a club from Macclesfield. Pretty simple stuff from their side.

Don’t you look silly now Bayer Leverkusen!
Well played ?
— Bayer 04 Leverkusen (@bayer04_en) September 26, 2018
The tweets being exchanged were also saw by retired footballer Carlton Cole, some social media users found the Bundesliga side to be disrespectful, others suggested the two sides should come face to face in a friendly – check out that reaction on the next page.
