Sunderland praised for “salty” dig tweet towards Plymouth and their stats screenshot

The person behind the Sunderland AFC Twitter account has won praise after having a dig at Plymouth Argyle and their stats tweet.

After the two sides met on Saturday, Plymouth posted a screenshot of the stats from the match along with a link to the match report.

However it’s caught the attention of the Wearside club who then quote tweeted it to their followers and wrote, “All these flavours, and you choose to be salty…”.

Following the game, the Sunderland Echo reported that Plymouth boss Derek Adams claimed that Plymouth ‘were the better team’, that he thought defeat wasn’t the right scoreline and Sunderland ‘rode their luck’.

He said: “Last week Southend had more opportunities than Sunderland did and Sunderland won. “Today, we have had more opportunities than Sunderland, and Sunderland have won.

Adams goes on to add that he thinks Sunderland won’t get it all their own way this season and that they’re favourites because of the money they have.

Sunderland boss Jack Ross however was pleased with what he saw and that they controlled majority of the game.

Supporters took to reply to Plymouth’s tweet saying that they were gracious in their defeat, others applauded Sunderland for their dig at the League One strugglers – check out those tweets on the next page.
