Stourbridge appoint Mark Yates, the ex-Kidderminster, Cheltenham, Crawley boss, after the sacking of Ian Long last month.
The experienced 50-year-old, who also had a playing career, will be working alongside former Macclesfield and Cheltenham defender Neil Howarth, who is named his assistant.

Alex Nicholls, with the support of Lee Brown and James Wren, took charge of his last game for Stourbridge on Saturday, where they won 2-0 against Lowestoft Town.
Mark Yates and Neil Howarth will be in the dugout for the league game away to Rushall Olympic on the 7th of March.
Chairman Andy Pountney: “I was delighted to be contacted by Mark earlier this week and thrilled that following discussions he has accepted the role with Neil (Howarth) coming in as his assistant. Mark’s track record speaks for itself. I look forward to working with them both.
“I received a host of phone calls and messages from people interested in the vacancy, which was very heartening. I’m sincerely apologise that I haven’t been able to get back in touch with everybody since, but it’s been a particularly busy week trying to sort out football matters on top of running my own business!
“I would also like to thank Alex, Lee and James for stepping into the breach at short notice ahead of the Royston match on Tuesday. Please give them your full support against Lowestoft.”

Massive statement of intent from the chair and vice chair.Quality appointment.Surely has excellent recent contacts to bring in the class of player we need to get out of this division.Let’s hope he gets players back to playing with a smile on their face and a spring in their step

After the dismay of the past few days, Yates was one of two managers I wanted and hoped for but never thought we would get.
Have to say it’s a top appointment by the club. Credit where credit is due.— Neil Stevens-Wood (@NeilStevensWoo1) February 28, 2020

Excellent appointment of Mark Yates at @StourbridgeFC. Mark has great experience of playing and managing, all at a higher level. Being a Brummie, he knows the Midlands scene very well too. I urge patience this time though. Don't expect success this season.

Very good appointment, could actually see them do the playoffs now depending on what players go and what is brought in. Done well at Kiddy and Solihull
