Stoke City set to sign exciting non league prospect Adam Lovatt

Stoke City are set to sign 20 year old Adam Lovatt who currently plays for Hastings United, according to reports.

In the last year or so, he has been hailed as one of the best players in non league football, having already trained with the likes of Leicester and Leeds.

Lovatt revealed on social media site Twitter said that he spent two days at Thorp Arch instead of five after a ‘change of plan’.

Sunderland joined the Foxes in watching him but instead didn’t put in a move for the player who also went on trial for Brighton.

TEAMtalk sources have claimed that the Hastings defensive midfielder spent time training with the Potters this week and now looks to be signing a deal to join them.

He’s said to have impressed their coaches enough and will now look to make an impact in the Championship, something that will be a much tougher test for him than where he is currently playing in the Isthmian League Division One South East (level 8), which his team sit top of.

Hastings’ website sums him up: “Adam is an all round-box to box midfield player who possesses excellent technique and physicality in equal measure. A reliable, efficient footballer who we at the Club have high hopes for.”

Adam Lovatt’s name has started to get plenty of mentions on social media, Stoke fans however gave a mixed reaction to the speculation – see what they had to say by clicking on the next page.
