Footage has emerged showing stewards and police having to step in to prevent Maidenhead and Southend fans from clashing in the stand.
On the rare occasion that fans are segregated, the away supporters are given part or all of the Bell Street End.
A gate was all that separated the home and away fans when Maidenhead hosted Southend on Tuesday night, but during the game, it all got a bit troublesome.
It’s claimed Maidenhead fans ran from one end of the stadium to the other to come give it large, leading to Southend supporters opening the gate and the home fans ran off.

Southend stay clear of the National League relegation zone due to goal difference, thanks to Danny Waldron’s winning goal in the second half that secured a 2-1 victory against Maidenhead.
Adam Crowther gave Southend the lead, sending them on their way for their first league victory since the 13th of January, but Maidenhead defender Kevin Lokko levlled the scoreline just before the break.
The hosts’ efforts to avoid a fourth consecutive league defeat were in vain with Southend retaking the lead on 58 minutes.
With only four points separating 11 teams, the visitors’ crucial win has left their opponents sitting a point above the drop.

Southend boss Kevin Maher said: “I’m delighted because it’s the least we’ve deserved. We started the game ever so well and got a goal from a set piece, which Crowths has been threatening to do. In the first half hour or so, we were in control and we had balls going into the box.
“Then they grew into the game – they cause everyone trouble here and they got a set piece. It was a bit disappointing from our point of view in terms of the organisation, so it would’ve been easy to crumble, but it was a great response.
“You’ll never come to Maidenhead and not have to work hard. I know they’re going through a difficult spell but they’re a real tough team to play against.
“Crowths is a threat, we knew that.
“We thought we needed someone who was gonna attack the ball from set pieces, and I’m delighted for him because he’s had a couple that have come close and he’s kept going.
“Cards has done brilliantly and Danny’s reacted and slotted it away brilliantly as well. Credit to him for finding the corner.
“The type of chances we were creating tells us we were doing the right things, and to get the win over the line is important mentally. It was important we didn’t panic.
“It’s one game and we’ve got to build on it. We’ve come away from home with the bodies we had missing and Cav playing out of position, but everyone put a shift in so I’m absolutely delighted for the players and the staff.
“It was great to hear the supporters singing again because we haven’t had that recently.”
