After reading the club statement on the incident at Southport, fans took to give their reaction with many suggesting the culprit should be banned…
The stewarding in and around the jack Carr stand needs to be more robust. I warned about objects being thrown after Saturdays FA cup game .

Apologised on behalf of the genuine fans to the keeper during the first half for it and he understood that it was a minority, should never happen at any stadium let alone ours

Idiots! Good, kick them out.

Well done the genuine fans in the ground, and well done Southport FC in acting quickly and responsibly.

He was only throwing the football back

Matt Walby: Lifetime ban. Period.
Mark Colin Peet: No time for that and the applause after they were thrown out shows which side the majority are on.
Callum Clark: Was happening on Saturday against Alty. Fans throwing bottles, cigarette lighters and bottle caps into the opposition goal. Pathetic.
Dave Bleackley: Name and shame ???
Paul Redford: Some of the verbal abuse visiting goalkeepers get needs looking at too!!!
A bit of banter is always fun and usually well recieved, but aggressive language, calling them peados etc etc is pathetic and makes us look terrible!!
Dave Gostelow: Yes well done to everyone involved in rooting these plonkers out. Shouldn’t be too difficult to identify in such a small crowd
Kenny Ryder: Need banning! Dont need that shite going on at our club
Angela Sampson: Nobody should throw anything on the pitch
