It has been confirmed by Mossley that they have been expelled from this season’s FA Trophy.
The Northern Premier League Division One North West side revealed the news on Tuesday after playing their Preliminary Road clash away to Cleethorpes Town on the 12th of October.
The club were informed that following a meeting of an FA National Game Sub-Committee, they were expelled from the FA Trophy for an alleged breach of Rule 15(i)(i).
The rule states: A player on a temporary (loan) transfer is ineligible to compete in the Challenge Trophy Competition unless permission to do so is given by the lending club in writing and a copy is received by The Association by 12 noon on the Friday prior to the date fixed for playing the round.
The decision, with reasons, will be issued by the FA in due course.
Mossley have been draw away to Morpeth Town in the FA Trophy First Qualifying Round.
The Football Association has informed Cleethorpes Town that they have been reinstated instead.
