Fans gave their reaction after finding out the Southern League club Blackfield & Langley request voluntary relegation.
Many question whether the FA will make an exception after saying Steps 3-7 will remain the same for next season”, as there would be gaps with teams either folding or stepping down.
I suspect that a lot of #NonLeague clubs will be impacted by current Covid_19 situation & will either fold or request demotion.
Due to null & void, FA has set themselves up for an almighty battle when they try to resolve divisional allocations by selecting clubs to fill places.

Very good question and one we’d all like the answer to. In theory if last season was ‘expunged’ there’s no way to promote teams based on last season’s results.
Clubs have folded and others want to go down/have failed ground grading. There’s certainly some gaps there.

Under normal circumstances Blackfield & Langley would have faced demotion for ground grading issues.
Their financier, other directors, the manager and key players have all departed recently for AFC Totton.
I understand B&L have asked to drop 2 divisions.— Cliff Pledge (@CliffPledge) June 8, 2020
Shades of the @GraysAthleticFC request for demotion in order to live within their means. The various leagues stand a fair chance of restructuring themselves by accident depending on how many clubs go to the wall. Just imagine the arguments over travel that could ensue …

Should not be moved down – they were more than happy winning the Wessex League and then getting promotion from step 4 to 3, you naturally get promoted or relegated until you find your level !

A lot of rumours flying around that that sort of thing forms the basis of this meeting on the 19th. Clubs asking for demotion and the FA keen to cut traveling apparently. Makes the early, snap decisions seem even more stupid now.

Clubs should not be punished with relegation if their budget says that they can’t afford to go up.
Good clubs that played for decades at step 6 are now struggling after demotion! These clubs played without lights for decades with no problems, so why change?

Sad, may be a sign of things to come for many clubs in non league, especially if the new season is delayed.

I think they will have to make an exception otherwise you could either end up with a club that fold or play a youth team every week that don’t win a game. Neither is any good for anyone. They were being demoted anyway as far as I am aware so their request needs to be looked at ?♂️
