Roy Larner ‘the Lion of London Bridge’ shows up to “F*ck you, I’m Millwall” gig

Roy Larner, ‘the Lion of London Bridge’, surprises a small crowd of people after he shows up to a “F*ck you, I’m Millwall” gig.

Dominic Frisby tweeted: Roy Larner, the Lion of London Bridge, is the man who, when being attacked by armed Jihadi terrorists fought back with the immortal battle cry, “Fuck you, I’m Millwall.”

I wrote the Ballad of Roy Larner about him.

Then he showed up to one of my gigs.

Here’s what happened… @roylarner41

Dominic Frisby can be heard saying in the video: If you remember way back to the London terror attacks, I think it was 2017, and, the jihadi guys went into, you know, they ran all the people on the pavement, and then they went to a restaurant with knives, and they started screaming at Allahu Akbar and shouting at people and stabbing them. And this bloke just turned around and went, “f*ck you, I’m Millwall!”. And that that guy’s name was Roy Larner. And, we’ve written a song, and it’s called the ballad of Roy Larner.

Song begins: “No one likes us. No one likes us. No one likes us. We don’t care.

“There was a bloke called Roy, who liked to watch the football.

“A classic cockney boy. His team, well that was Millwall.

“Old school and traditional. White and working class.

“Loathed by lefty liberals, the London working class.

“No one likes us, no one likes us, No one likes us. We don’t care.

“Three jihadis in a van rammed people on the pavement.

“They took their knives and ran to nearby bars and restaurants.

“Slashed out everywhere, their mission to destroy.

“Panic, death, despair, and that’s when they met Roy. They said, Allahu Akbar, he said “Fuck you, I’m Millwall!

“They said, Allahu Akbar, he said “Fuck you, I’m Millwall!

“They stabbed him in his lung and leg, they slashed him in his neck and head,

But he fought on and now they’re dead, last thing they heard was what he said…

“Fuck you, I’m Millwall!

“The lion of London Bridge, never got no medal

“But we know what he did. He took on the devil

“Risked his life and limb. No weapons or no armour.

“We owe a debt to him. His name, it is Roy Larner.

“As their songs were emerging, they heard fuck you, I’m Millwall.

“And to heaven was surging, they got fuck you, I’m Millwall.

“Slowly submerging, fuck you, I’m Millwall.

“Then 72 virgins all said, fuck you, we’re Millwall.

“No one likes us. No one likes us. But you need us, so beware.”

After the song, he then says to the crowd: “I think we have a little surprise for you, and I think our man, mister Roy Larner, is out there in the audience today.”

Roy spoke to Good Morning Britain about taking on three knife-wielding attackers spoke to Good Morning Britain.

Roy Larner was stabbed eight times as he fought the terrorists, telling them: “**** you, I’m Millwall!”.

He said to Piers and Susanna at the time: ”I got a good hiding from it, but they’re not alive, I am still.”

When asked what made him fight the attackers rather than run away, Roy joked: “Maybe I’m a bit brain dead.”

He continued: “I don’t know, I wish I knew. When people enjoy themselves on a night out, you don’t want to let these people win. You don’t know who they are. I didn’t even see they had the fake suicide vests on or nothing. It was just an instant reaction. Whether I’d do it again, I don’t know.”

In 2023, The late Queen’s cousin Princess Alexandra, president of the Royal Humane Society, personally approved Roy’s Silver Medal for bravery.

Roy said: “After six years, it’s crazy how things are coming together. The six-year anniversary of the attack is in three weeks and people are recognising what I did now. These things take time – you’ve got to keep fighting.”

Andrew Chapman, Secretary of the Society, said: “To say what Roy did was heroic would almost be an understatement. He put his life on the line to give others a chance to flee from the restaurant.

“He confronted three terrorists who had already killed and maimed countless other people and he must have known they would kill him if they could.”

The Royal Humane Society Silver Award is one of the UK’s oldest and most prestigious bravery awards.

Roy still hopes to one day receive the ultimate recognition – the George Cross – but still hasn’t, despite over 24,000 signatures on a petition set up for him.

Reflecting on the attack, Roy said: “I’m in a much better place now I’m still getting stopped in the streets all the time – at least I can talk to people about it rather than avoiding the subject. I’ve done something good – I should be proud of it.”
