Ross McCormack wage demands revealed after non league move

Ross McCormack has seen his wage demands revealed after sealing that shocking, out of nowhere non league move to Aldershot Town earlier this week.

Manager of the National League side, Danny Searle insists that the experienced former English Football League player “hasn’t bankrupted” the club in joining the Shots.

The ex-Fulham, Cardiff, Leeds, Aston Villa and Rangers striker has commanded over £25 million in transfer fees during spells at his former clubs.

However, the Scotland cap last played for The Steelmen in his second spell at Fir Park while on loan from Villa in early 2019.

The 34-year-old made just four appearances off the bench for Stephen Robinson’s side before he was released from his Villa Park contract.

2007 – Scotland B – 1 game (0 goals)
2008–2016 – Scotland – 13 games (2 goals)

After his surprise National League move, boss Searle says he has not asked for a big-money deal to return to football.

His current market value according to Transfermarkt stands at £1.08m.

He told Shots TV on the move and Ross McCormack wage demands: “He was so great and easy to deal with.

“It wasn’t about money for him, it’s about loving the game.

“He has had a tremendous career and he’s a fantastic footballer and we’re lucky to have him, and he feels lucky to be here.

“I know people will look at it and say ‘how has that happened?’ but he just loves the game.

“The way he is with our players and younger players, he is already having an influence.

“As I say, it wasn’t about money for him. He hasn’t bankrupted us at all. He has actually come in and fit in with our wage structure and he has made sure that he adds value.

“He wants to give something back to the game.

“People will have opinions; good, bad and indifferent, about lots of different people, but for me he has been tremendous to deal with and I can’t wait to work with him every day.”
