Ross McCormack has seen his wage demands revealed after sealing that shocking, out of nowhere non league move to Aldershot Town earlier this week.
Manager of the National League side, Danny Searle insists that the experienced former English Football League player “hasn’t bankrupted” the club in joining the Shots.
The ex-Fulham, Cardiff, Leeds, Aston Villa and Rangers striker has commanded over £25 million in transfer fees during spells at his former clubs.
A personal message from Ross to all the Shots fans… ????

After his surprise National League move, boss Searle says he has not asked for a big-money deal to return to football.
He told Shots TV on the move and Ross McCormack wage demands: “He was so great and easy to deal with.
“It wasn’t about money for him, it’s about loving the game.
“He has had a tremendous career and he’s a fantastic footballer and we’re lucky to have him, and he feels lucky to be here.
“I know people will look at it and say ‘how has that happened?’ but he just loves the game.
“The way he is with our players and younger players, he is already having an influence.
“As I say, it wasn’t about money for him. He hasn’t bankrupted us at all. He has actually come in and fit in with our wage structure and he has made sure that he adds value.
“He wants to give something back to the game.
“People will have opinions; good, bad and indifferent, about lots of different people, but for me he has been tremendous to deal with and I can’t wait to work with him every day.”
The full interview can be listened and watched below…
McCormack said in an interview with the club:
– Couldn’t wait to get started
– Wasn’t a hard decision to make in joining Aldershot
– Had a good break and been out for the whole of last season
– Had a good chance to reflect, some much needed headspace
– Football is football, doesn’t matter what level you play at
– Looking forward to getting to know the lads, their qualities and attributes
– Manager has been first class, honest, open, good chats and knows everything that went on in his life and is willing to start a fresh
– Not sure on his goals and targets in a league he doesn’t know too well, just wants to focus on enjoying the game again, if he is then will definitely see some goals

watched him over in the A-League, he still performed fantastically, thought he’d go back and play at a Championship/League 1 level. What a signing this could turn out to be

Thats is one hell of a signing. He was class for us, kept us up and was top scorer in the league in what would otherwise be a relegation season.

Such a shame how the latter years of his career panned out.
On his day for Leeds and Fulham he was a different class.
