Rape-accused Benjamin Mendy has been spotted casually handing out food to kids outside Sainsbury’s with footage doing the rounds.
It comes days after reports stated that the Manchester City footballer was allowed to skip pre-trial hearing as he faces string of sex crime charges including seven counts of rape involving six alleged victims.
Mendy, 27, of Prestbury, Cheshire, will stand trial on the 25th of July along with his co-defendant Louis Saha Matturie, 40, who faces similar allegations.
Matturie of Eccles, Salford, is accused of 10 offences involving seven women, including seven counts of rape relating to five women and three of sexual assault.

All the charges came between late 2020 and August 2021 and both accused were first arrested on the 26th of August last year. A hearing in the case took place at Chester Crown Court on Thursday morning with Mendy skipping it and seemingly chose to hand out food to kids instead.
Legal and evidential matters, which can’t be reported ahead of the trial, were dealt with at the short hearing before The Recorder of Chester Judge Steven Everett, with it lasting just under half an hour.
The two defendants were represented by their legal counsel by videolink.
A further hearing pre-trial hearing for both defendants is listed to take place on the 23rd of May and the The trial is listed to begin on the 25th July this year and is currently estimated to last around six weeks.
Mendy has made 50 appearances for Manchester City since joining from Monaco for a reported £52m in 2017, before being suspended by the Premier League club after being charged by police.
Mendy was released on bail in January after four months in prison for the alleged sex attacks.
He was kept at HMP Altcourse, Liverpool, before being transferred to HMP Manchester.
Judge Patrick Thompson made the decision to let him out on bail after declining a prosecution request to extend Mendy’s custody time limit.
Following his charges, Manchester City said in a statement at the time: ‘The matter is subject to a legal process and the club is therefore unable to make further comment until that process is complete.’
After being granted bail, he was made to hand over his passport and make no contact with complainants, while Mendy must also stay at his six bedroom, £4.8m mansion in Cheshire, but has since been spotted out and about in the streets and in a local Costa Coffee with pals.
Eight months ago, it was reported that Benjamin Mendy had a meltdown in HMP Altcourse, being furious on arrival at his jail cell after mistakenly believing he was going to be housed on a VIP wing.
He was shocked that he would not be allowed home as he was instead transported to the Category B jail in Liverpool.

Mendy misheard and assumed that meant he would be taken to a wing specifically for those in the public eye and celebrity figures, dismayed when he realised that was not the case.
A source said at the time: “When Mendy arrived staff explained he was going to be kept on the VP wing for his own safety.
“But perhaps because he is French and his English isn’t great, he misunderstood what they had said and thought he was being taken to a VIP wing for celebrities.
“He had a rude awakening when he saw the cell and realised who he was going to be mixing with.
“He wasn’t happy and it was a very sobering experience for him.”
