QPR’s Jack Colback spotted taking the piss out of Blackburn fan after receiving abuse

QPR’s Jack Colback was spotted taking the piss out of Blackburn fan after receiving abuse from the spectator in the Championship on Saturday.

A clip has surfaced on social media, getting over 1,600 likes and over 1 million views with Colback said to be ‘calling someone fat’.

An Aynsley Pears’ own goal and Joseph Hodge boosted Queens Park Rangers survival hopes while for Rovers saw their slump continue.

Colback said after the game: “It’s a massive win. Obviously we know we’re in a position now where we must win games. Obviously we came here with a game plan. We were confident that we could get it done.

“It was a tough game at times. They’re a good side with a unique style, really. They go very man to man.

“So it was about inviting them on and being brave enough on the ball to try and play through that. I thought that worked well at times and we created a lot of chances. We could have been three or four in the first half, really.

“Obviously we get the two in the second half but allow them to equalise. But I thought as a unit we defended well and thoroughly deserved the three points.”

Interviewer: “How important is your experience in the side, particularly when they did pull one back in terms of holding on to things?”

Colback: “Yeah, it’s important in moments like that. I think a lot of times in football you can play well and you can have the individual brilliance at times, but sometimes it’s about seeing it out and getting through difficult moments which obviously when they equalised it, it turned into that a bit, but thought we managed it well. They had one or two off chances, but other than that I thought we defended really well and like I say, I think we were well deserving of the win and it probably should have been by a greater scoring.

Interviewer: “And how does it feel on the field when you see the ten minutes being shown right at the end of it?”

Colback: “I can’t believe it, to be honest. I said, the ref, how have you got that? And he said, there’s been stoppages, but it’s one of them. Obviously when you’re holding on and you see ten minutes, you just think, is it going to be one of them days? But again, we defended well. We’ve been really well organised since the new gaffer came in and I think we’re a hard team to break down. Obviously we’re disappointed with the equaliser, but that’s football. That can happen. But yeah, like I say, unfortunately we weren’t further ahead, but we got the three points and that’s the important thing.”

Interviewer: “And finally, for you, how does it feel being part of this new looking midfield with the new signings after they came on from the bench in the second half?”

Colback: “Yeah, obviously it’s good to see new faces come in. I think we needed that. We’ve had a thin squad all season. Obviously we’ve had players in and out myself, including injuries and suspensions, and we’ve not really had a settled team for a long period, and I think if we had that, I don’t believe we’ll be where we are. But to see obviously new faces come in, it adds to the team, to the squad. And obviously Isaac came on and did well. And obviously for Joe to come on and get a goal is brilliant for him and I’m sure they can help us get to where we want to be.”

Blackburn’s Jon Dahl Tomasson:

“We are disappointed to lose the game. I think actually we started really well. It was a good chance for Ben (Chrisene). Brilliant play, he should have scored that.

“I don’t think the level is the same as Monday when we really played well and in the end of the game, we scored a good goal but we created plenty of chances to score goals.

“We conceded two unnecessary goals of course where we should have done better. We knew they could be dangerous in transition where we lost balls where normally we shouldn’t lose balls.

“I think the lads and our fans showed great character. We almost got the draw. I think we had two or three good opportunities. Big chances to get the second.

“So all the credit to the players and actually also for the fans to stay behind the team but of course disappointed. We want to win games.”

QPR’s Marti Cifuentes:

“Important win for us, definitely because we knew we were playing against a team that offensively they are one of the best teams.

“When they are in possession, they can create a lot of chances and I think we contained them well for first 70-75 minutes.

“In addition, a difficult place for QPR historically, it’s been a lot of years since the last victory. In this situation, where we are, every victory is so, so important with the results that happened today.

“It was not easy. I think small margins today, the goal of Ilias (Chair), a very brilliant action but today the ball rebounded and went in. Other days, unfortunately it’s been post and out.

“I’m a big believer that the small margins when you work hard, when you work in a humble way, starts to pay off. Hopefully this will be what this team will start to achieve because since my arrival, the team has been competing very well in all the games. Hopefully this can be a turning point.”
