QPR are said to be keen on 44 year old manager Neil Critchley as their chairman gets into a Twitter storm over a tweet on Michael Beale.
Beale is expected to move from QPR to Rangers, after being approached by the Scottish club, with Critchley, a former Blackpool manager, now being considered to be Beale’s successor.
Reports claim that Rangers are currently in formal talks about taking over at the Ibrox club with Beale keen to get the job. He did not try to deny recent reports that he plans to return to the club where his assistant manager role was.

Ross Wilson, Rangers’ sporting director, has a strong relationship with him. He is keen to appoint the man, but other senior club figures, such as Sean Dyche, are open to exploring other options.
It appears that Wilson has got his way and Beale is now in pole position.
Beale was previously a coach at Liverpool and Chelsea. He was Steven Gerrard’s assistant at Rangers when Gerrard took over as manager of Aston Villa.
Beale left Villa during the summer to take over Loftus Road. Critchley took the job as Gerrard’s assistant. Critchley quit his post as Blackpool boss to take the job.
Critchley, who left Villa after Gerrard’s sacking, is now available. His track record of developing players and working with a small budget makes him an obvious candidate to replace Beale.
QPR may need to move quickly as Critchley is considering taking on a coaching role at Bournemouth.
Neil Critchley has admitted he’s preparing himself for his next job in an interview with @SportJournUclan.

Beale rejected the opportunity to become Wolves manager, but he is more inclined to accept Rangers as a role.
Speaking after it was confirmed he would not be leaving for Wolves, he said: “I didn’t think it was the right moment, because I entered into an agreement here.
“Integrity is a real big thing for me, and loyalty. You don’t give it to receive it back but I think if they’re the values you live by then at times when you’re put in a position then you have to be strong by them.
“I have been all-in here and I have asked other people to be all-in so I can’t be the first person to run away from the ship.”
Simon Jordan said he was ‘perplexed’ by Michael Beale’s link to the Rangers job, just 35 days after committing his future to the West London outfit.
After turning down the Wolves job, Beale said: “It has come a bit too soon. It is the aim for me to work in the Premier League, like it is for all our players.
“The idea is to try and go there ourselves as a group. When we are doing well there will be speculation.
“One thing for sure is that Wolves is a fantastic football club, they’re a historic football club. It was a real privilege to be asked to go and speak to them, but I didn’t think it was the right moment as I entered into an agreement here.
“Integrity is a real big thing for me and loyalty. You don’t give it to receive it back, but if those are the things you live by then at times when you are put in a position you have to be strong by them.
“I don’t think we are anywhere near where I want QPR to be as a group. I’m enjoying working with them, we’ve got a lot to do, but I’m excited by it.
“There’s going to be some bumps in the road, but I’ve been all in here and I’ve asked other people to be all in.
“So I can’t be the first person to run away from he ship.”
But just 35 days later Beale looks primed to ditch the Championship club and Jordan took aim at the manager’s previous comments regarding ‘integrity’, saying: “I’m perplexed as to why you’d want to be so strident in your view about integrity and then 35 days later or 40 days later, that’s now changed.
🤨 “I’m perplexed why you would be so strident in your views [about integrity].”
🤷♂️ “Then 35 days later that’s changed.”
😡 “Seemingly turning down #WWFC was nothing to do with staying at #QPR.”

“If he now makes the decision to go to Rangers then everything I said five weeks ago would be exactly the same now.
“I did say I would be surprised If he didn’t go to Wolves and I was very pleasantly surprised that he didn’t. I listened to his little soliloquy about integrity, enjoying himself at QPR and having a job to do.
“I remarked on social media that I hoped sods law wouldn’t kick in and he’d lose the next game and he didn’t. He then went on to lose the next four or five.
“People will say that perhaps he could be facing some pressure from QPR in a few games’ time if he doesn’t win those games, but the bottom line is that Rangers is a very risky job.
“Celtic have got such a hold on that league at this moment in time. Ange Postecoglou is in such good nick and the difference between Celtic and Rangers is not insignificant.
“It comes back to my original position that these bloody managers need to earn their stripes and should just be jumping at the first opportunity.
“By the very nature of what you join up backwards now, something about Wolverhampton Wanderers’ conversation with Beale couldn’t have clicked and it seemingly had nothing to do with this position of ‘I want to stay at QPR’. It was probably something in the dialogue between him and Wolves.
“I hope I get proved to be wrong again but I think this time he’ll find himself out of the door.”
Meanwhile, QPR chairman Amit Bhatia has been caught up in an angry Twitter storm.
There has been some backlash to the move from within the Queens Park Rngers fanbase with chairman Amid Bhatia appearing to like an angry fan’s tweet on Twitter.
Michael Beale reaffirmed his commitment to what the club was building and was revered by Amit Bhatia in the process.
But now the club’s chairman has been caught liking a tweet sent by an angry supporter who has claimed Beale is doing a “runner” and that Amit Bhatia must be “fuming”.
Fraser Fletcher @FrazFletcher claimed on Saturday: “With it now accepted and expected Michael Beale will be taking the reigns at Ibrox, QPR chairman Amit Bhatia has liked the below tweet. Announcement expected by end of Monday.”
I’ve met some amazing people and shared in some incredible memories over my past 15 years in football. But the decision the gaffer made today, to trust us as he stood at a crossroad, is as important as any. Fans reacted with QPR keen on 44 year old manager Neil Critchley as the chairman gets into a Twitter storm over a tweet on Michael Beale…
@alexcarroll1985: Get Dyche in and sack Beale! Fuck the 1.5m we get. Show class and get rid of the turncoat! No one is bigger then the club! Up The Rangers! @Amit_Bhatia99 #QPR 💙
@Niks8_: @Amit_Bhatia99 wether Mickey leaves or not isn’t actually the biggest issue! UNLESS we sign an out an out goalscorer, who doesn’t have to rely on others 100% in order to score, nothing will change regardless! Give whoever’s in charge the weapon we desperately need #qpr 🙏🏾
@WillQPR467: Always had a lot of respect for @Amit_Bhatia99
@cbb_george: Even if Beale stays he’s made himself look like a massive flog.
@scoach78000: Michael Beale going to Rangers then. Suppose we will find out if he was the brains behind Gerrard’s success up there. Hope he fails. Not because I like Gerrard or dislike Beale. But because Rangers are Queen shagging cun*ts. Ynwa Nsno
@jezmassey: But he’s got integrity and a job to finish at QPR and loves his players and owes them everything 😂
@shornKOOMINS: That would make a total mockery of everything he said after rejecting Wolves when he talked about finishing what he’s started, ‘the project’ etc.
@wolvespremier: Looking forward to his 4 hour interview this evening on why he only signed because Rangers is in the name and he felt loyal ….
@oaky1965: Where’s the loyalty now ? #qpr
@Prem2014: Think its better for all concerned if he was to move on. It’s clear he’s at QPR as a stepping stone! Does nothing to squash early speculation which tells me he’s actively looking. Good luck to him if he goes but I hope he does it quickly to give us a chance to get someone in.
@GoalShort: Haven’t QPR lost just about every game since he turned down Wolves? Might be taking this v having no job in a few weeks.
@BURNLOFTUSROAD: Great, let’s switch for expansive possession based football to a flat 442 system which doesn’t suit our squad 👍🏻
@Qprjem0808: Think Critchley would be a good fit but only time will tell of course
@hadders112: 20 games, achieved nothing and having talked the talk has failed to walk the walk. He did realise QPR was in London before he signed and said it was the perfect job for him right!? What a waste of our and the boards time.
@M_ImpsW12: Integrity. Honestly. Out of the window. A very poor show by Beale. “I won’t be the first out of the door” wasn’t this his own quote?
@Judecairns_: Well that’s that. Prick.
