It’s Premier League Final Day with the title, relegation and European places needing to be confirmed this Sunday afternoon.
We knew that Manchester City will win the Premier League if they beat Aston Villa on Sunday – or match Liverpool’s result at home to Wolves.
Should City draw against Villa, Liverpool will be crowned champions if they beat Wolves.
Given their inferior goal difference, a draw would only be enough for Liverpool to be champions on Sunday if Manchester City lose by a seven-goal margin to Aston Villa.
Arsenal must beat Everton at home to stand any chance of qualifying for the Champions League.
Tottenham realistically need a point away at Norwich to secure fourth place over Arsenal, as the Gunners would need to beat Everton by 16 goals to finish ahead of Spurs on goal difference.
At home to Newcastle on Sunday, Burnley need to match Leeds’ result at Brentford to stay up.
Leeds will remain in the Premier League at the Clarets’ expense if they better Burnley’s result.
Jesse Marsch’s Leeds will be relegated should they lose away to Brentford.
Former Ipswich player Darren Ambrose talking on Sky Sports: “It’s the last day of the season. I’ve never seen a last day where so much is up for grabs. The title, fourth place, sixth and seventh and relegation. It’s so exciting.
“Steven Gerrard is going to, first and foremost, want to win for Aston Villa and if, off the back of that, it helps out Liverpool he’ll be absolutely delighted.
“He’ll want to end on a high today, to build some confidence going into the summer. The numbers don’t look great for Aston Villa, but they’ll want to put on a show.
“When the fans are cheering about results elsewhere, it’s hard to block out. It will play some part, but they’ll be professional enough to concentrate on the pitch. I can see both teams getting a result today and the title will therefore go to Man City.”
Who will finish the season as golden boot winner? Mohamed Salah starts on the bench for Liverpool this afternoon, handing Tottenham’s Heung-Min Son the chance to by-pass him in the race of the Golden Boot.
Two goals from the South Korean would see him overtake Salah into first – putting the pressure on the Liverpool forward to come on and bag a few goals himself.
Without further ado, here’s how it all played out…
GOAL! Liverpool 0-1 Wolves (Neto, 3)
Disaster for Liverpool – who concede early and Man City go closer to the title without even needing to beat Aston Villa. Sa sends a long goal kick to find Jimenez down the right and the Wolves striker is through on goal. He squared for Neto for an easy tap-in. Just where were the Liverpool defenders?
That wasn’t in the script! 📃

6: SAVE! Big chance for Chelsea to open the scoring!
Kenedy and Mount hustle the ball off Sissoko and the England international clips a delightful ball over the top for Havertz. However, Chelsea’s striker can only strike his left-footed effort at Bachmann, who makes a strong save.
Liverpool 0-1 Wolves
6: WIDE! Nearly an equaliser for the hosts. Diaz crossed from the right and Matip got in between Coady and Boly. The Liverpool defender headed wide of Sa’s goal though.
Norwich 0-0 Tottenham
8: CHANCE! Tottenham break at pace and it was Kane who released Kulusevski down the right. The Swede did brilliantly to pick out Hojbjerg in the box who took a touch to steady himself before blazing over.
Burnley 0-0 Newcastle
7: A slight worry for Newcastle with Joelinton down in the centre circle holding his leg and needing treatment…
Man City 0-0 Aston Villa
10: CLOSE! Villa flex their muscles. Watkins pulled out wide and delivered. Coutinho made the dart across Fernandinho and went inches away from scoring. It’s cleared for a corner.
Liverpool 0-1 Wolves
9: SAVE! Sa stopped Diaz. The Liverpool winger was through on goal and had his body ready to shoot but Sa blocked him. Liverpool wanted a penalty appeal as Sa caught Diaz after the ball was gone. VAR checked it and chose not to give a penalty.
GOAL! Chelsea 1-0 Watford (Havertz, 11)
Fair to safe it was coming with Kenedy playing very well in the opening 11 minutes, and he claimed the assist after seeing his low cross tapped home by Havertz, unmarked, to put Chelsea ahead.
Liverpool 0-1 Wolves
14: BLOCK! Chaos in the Wolves penalty area with Liverpool stepping it up a gear. Jota fed Alexander-Arnold down the right and crossed. Boly deflected the ball onto Coady’s midrift and it fell to Keita in the box. The Liverpool midfielder smashed a shot at goal but a Wolves block deflected it behind for a corner. Sa claimed Matip’s header from the resulting corner.
Brentford 0-0 Leeds
13: SO CLOSE! And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why Brentford want to keep hold of Christian Eriksen lifted a wonderful ball in from the right, which looks set to end up in the back of the net, especially with how many players were in the area, but no one can apply it, with Yoane Wissa prodding wide at the back post.
GOAL! Norwich 0-1 Tottenham (Kulusevski, 16)
Hojbjerg lifted a lovely ball from inside in his own half into the path of Bentancur, who had all the time in the world to pick out Kulusevski for a simple tap in.
Chelsea 1-0 Watford
15: CLOSE! Chelsea want a second and they almost got it via Saul. They won the ball off Watford about 30 yards out and Havertz found the Spaniard with a nice flick, though his curling effort went just wide.
GOAL! Burnley 0-1 Newcastle (Wilson, pen, 20)
17: SAVE! Collins made a mess of clearing the ball in his own area, Guimaraes had a shot on goal from the edge of the box, Pope was there to make a save. Collins looked to have handled the resulting corner at the far post, VAR looked and a penalty was given, which Wilson scored with Pope going the wrong way.
NO GOAL! Brentford 0-0 Leeds
Joe Gelhardt smashed a shot into the roof of the net from a tight angle, but was disallowed for offside.
Leeds have the ball in the back of the net BUT…Joe Gelhardt is ruled offside! ❌
GOOD news for Jesse Marsch’s side though as Burnley are behind! 📈 pic.twitter.com/IpZLNxFtB8

GOAL! Liverpool 1-1 Wolves (Mane, 24)
It’s threaded through the middle, flicked on smartly by Thiago and Sadio Mane is clean through. He makes no mistake, slotting it past Jose Sa.

Chelsea 1-0 Watford
25: CLOSE! Watford nearly equalise, a complete utter mess from Chelsea! Saul gave the ball away on the edge of the area and then Mendy flapped at a punch, allowing Kayembe to play a neat one-two then dragged a shot just wide of the near post.
Leicester 0-0 Southampton
22: PENALTY? Vardy went down in the box after getting in behind the defensive line. He doesn’t appeal however, though the fans do! Replays showed no contact from Lyanco. Then Vardy went through again but looked to slide a pass across the box for a team-mate instead of smashing at goal – no teammate was there.
GOAL! Arsenal 1-0 Everton (Martinelli pen 27)
26: PENALTY TO ARSENAL! Andre Marriner changed his on-field decision and pointed to the spot… the Brazilian stepsped up and sent Begovic the wrong way to give the Gunners the lead!
GOAL! Arsenal 2-0 Everton (Nketiah, 31)
Instinctive finish Nketiah. Martinelli flicked Saka’s corner on and the striker got his head to the ball, sending the ball into the far corner to double Arsenal’s lead.
GOAL! Norwich 0-2 Tottenham (Kane, 32)
A horrible mistake from Tim Krul with Norwich trying to play out from the back but the ball went back to Krul who played a pass straight to Bentancur, who had the simple task of crossing for Kane to head into an empty net.
GOAL! Man City 0-1 Aston Villa (Cash, 37)
Erm. Wow. Villa soaked up the pressure and hit on the break. Digne got down the left and puts in the perfect ball. In came Cash who headers past Ederson. As it stood at this point, City were still top on goal difference. But a Liverpool goal would change all that.

GOAL! Brighton 0-1 West Ham (Antonio, 40)
WHAT A STRIKE! First the Hammers fans celebrated Crystal Palace going ahead and then just minutes later, they went wild! Schmeichel hit it long and Lyanco headed it up in the air with a poor clearance – but then he got a second roll of the dice as the ball came back down and decided to head it back to McCarthy – though it goes straight to Vardy who smashed goal-bound and the rebound landed at the feet of inform Maddison to cooly slot Leicester into the lead.

March did superbly to control a cross in the box before teeing up Veltman, whose drive squirmed under the body of the West Ham goalkeeper and in! Hammers back down to seventh.

GOAL! Arsenal 4-1 Everton (Gabriel, 59)
The goal came from a corner again and the ball fell to Cedric on the edge of the penalty area and he’s urged to shoot. VAR looked and the goal stood.
GOAL! Burnley 0-2 Newcastle (Wilson, 60)
That could be that for Burnley. Leeds are one up and three points above the drop zone.
GOAL! Norwich 0-3 Tottenham (Kulusevski, 64)
Fantastic goal from Kulusevski who made up for his miss a few of minutes before. The winger was played in down the right, he cut in and had the strength to beat Giannoulis and then curled a lovely shot into the top corner.
